Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning or DILR is one of the mandatory sections of CAT. In other MBA entrance exams too, a good number of questions are asked from both DI and LR. The section consists of an array of questions on multiple topics such as graphs, tables, charts, diagrams, caselets, clocks & calendars, arrangements, visual reasoning, etc. Weightage and difficulty level of DILR varies for each exam, but one thing that is common is preparation strategy. DILR is essentially a test of analytical reasoning and critical thinking abilities of an MBA aspirant. To master this section, one needs to have eye for detail and must know basic mathematical calculations.
