Admission journey of a Galgotias University student

I got an email from the university with a congratulatory message on my success and an invitation for the counselling session. In the month of July, I visited the campus one GCET.

GEEE or Galgotias engineering entrance exam is a great opportunity to pursue a career in engineering. Every year in the month of January, a great opportunity goes live for science background students willing to do engineering in this college having good placement records and great faculty with affordable fee.

After the completion of my intermediate board exams, I was willing to do B.tech with Computer Science engineering. I was looking for an institute with good infrastructure, great placement record and experienced faculty. I did my research on various engineering colleges in Delhi/NCR and found some colleges.

Galgotias University was one of them and the words highlighted with it was GEEE. I hit that button with great curiosity and filled an application form, costing Rs 1000/-. I applied for an integrated program B.tech (CSE) + MBA. One can select any nearby examination centre for giving the exam. I prepared for the exam by going through subjects like English, Science, and Mathematics of 10th and12th class.

In the month of June, I got my admit card generated with my application ID and went for the exam in the same month. Moreover, I felt that the pattern was very simple having reading comprehension, vocabulary questions, and some benign questions of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. I felt relieved by reading that there was no negative marking and each question values only 1 mark. 15 days after the exam, the results were declared and I got my scorecard with a rank of 1153.

I got an email from the university with a congratulatory message on my success and an invitation for the counselling session. In the month of July, I visited the campus one GCET with the same dignity I appeared in the exam. Professionals discussed all of my concerns. I was asked to bring the following documents: Adhaar card, Medical certificate, Character certificate, Migration certificate and mark sheets of 10th and12th.

I filled the form offline with all my basic details and made myself very clear with all the rules and regulations of the university. Soon, I got all my certificates verified. I headed towards the account section, paid all amounts and made my dues 0. Then I got my photograph on my identity card. As soon as I got my admission process completed, I got an email from the university regarding the orientation of the students.

It was a 4 hours orientation in which faculty briefed the students about their feelings to survive in the university with a discussion about transportation modes and placement process. They announced the dates and schedule for the commencement of the classes. One hand washes the other and both wash the face and makes it bright. I prepared for the exam and I got myself selected. There ain't any rocket science in it. Just give your best and be honest to yourself.
