Low score in JEE Advanced is not the end of the road

Good results are important for every student, however, apart from a technical degree, the attitude, enthusiasm, and skills of a student also matters in life. Explore other options and enrol in other examination as back-up to keep the doors of a bright career open.
The students often feel stuck when their scores in competitive exams are low or below their expectations. There is nothing to worry about low scores and feel anxious about the future. There is always a ray of hope that students should follow. In this article, we would discuss the different options available for students after low scores and tips to cope with the JEE results.
In case, a student has already taken a gap of one year after your Class 12 to prepare for JEE Advanced, then they must not think of dropping another year. In case this is the first attempt then I would suggest, they might prepare for one more year and enrol themselves in a good coaching institute. Also, practise as many mock tests and previous year papers as possible to understand the pattern of the exam. The students should focus on achieving a good score as only clearing the cut-off would not help in getting admission in IIT or NIT College (particularly general category candidates).
In my case, I was not able to make into a good government institute, as my JEE score was up to the mark. This made me feel depressed and anxious about my future. Then, after a detailed discussion with one of my relatives who works in TATA Steel, I decided to search for other options instead of preparing for another year or joining any coaching institute.
At that time, the results for KIITEE and State Entrance Test were declared and I was called for the first round of counselling in KIIT and the state exams counselling process was scheduled a little late. Therefore, I finally appeared for KIIT counselling session wherein I was allotted the Civil Engineering branch. The counselling and admission process for private universities takes place quite early as compared to that of state or JEE tests.
It is always important to keep in mind that there is a future besides IITs. These days private universities offer a wide range of facilities and good faculties from IITs and NITs. The private universities like VIT, KIIT, BITS, Amity, SRM, GLA offers quality education and focuses on all-round development of the students. Also, students would get multiple placement opportunities that are not less than NITs. So, register in some of the private universities as a back-up.
Also, if a student wants, they could get admission in NITs based on their JEE rank, in such a scenario they have to wait for the subsequent round of counselling. Particularly, in a scenario where the JEE score is quite more than the cut-off, then the chances to get admission in the NITs becomes higher as nowadays the board marks are not considered for JEE Main rank. The students must have scored 75% marks in their board examination and they are good to go.
Stay calm and think wisely. Always focus on learning new things in life. Apart from these, students must consider state entrances, focus on their results and attend their counselling process too.
