To tell you the truth, Why I have chosen EEE is that, I knew from my school days that it will never be boring, as new gadgets come out all the time, as well as Electrical and Electronic components, are modified, invented and reinvented every day.

There are newer devices, latest technologies and inventions coming into the field and the same processor component that was available 10 years ago is no more in use. New and exciting stuff is available all the time and one can enjoy learning, testing and assembling it. I had a passion for knowing how these stuff work which triggered my interest in EEE.

Motivating every individual in PMIST to study, analyse, observe and replicate the principles, philosophy and practice of Social Engineering. Students are encouraged to involve in earn while learn. Students believe that all knowledge can be understood through a process of reasoning, without any external sources.

Since my early school days, I have had a great interest in Science and related subjects. Science has answers to all the questions in the world and I wanted to know those answers. This curiosity of mine made me choose Science as my core subject in Classes 11 and 12. I wanted to innovate, invent and those astonishing wonders that science holds.

Now, I had all Science subjects which means Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with Mathematics. I completed my 12 in Nava Bharath National School, Coimbatore. I attempted to write JEE main just by practising the previous year's problem-solving books.

I didn’t get admission in IIT and NIT. However, I got admission in some local colleges with my JEE rank but I didn’t join as they were not that good. After the result of my JEE Main, I wasn’t satisfied much. So, I decided to join some private colleges. I also applied and gave entrance tests for VIT, AMIRTA and SASTRA.

I was selected in some of them but I didn’t attend counselling in those colleges because their tuition fee was high and there were some other reasons too. I searched for some good colleges in Tamil Nadu offering decent placements. I came across Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology and decided to join it.

As part of the curriculum, we published articles in international journals with our new findings leading to further research. Basically, Electrical engineering deals with the study and application of Physics and Mathematics combined with elements of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism to both large and small scale systems to process information and transmit energy. It covers a wide range of sub-fields including electronics, digital computers, power engineering, telecommunications, control systems, RF engineering and signal processing.

I developed and gained various other skills that are transferable within the engineering world as well as practical skills that are equally useful and applicable in many other sectors. My Problem-solving skills got sharpened, interpersonal and communication skills improved a lot and I learned about teamwork that allowed me to settle in my profession with ease. Above all of these, I imbibed the competency to manage time and all available resources as well as assess the risks involved in a certain project. Other useful skills that I acquired include design, leadership and organisational skills.

I like spending time in college, learning new and interesting concepts every day. This kept my excitement levels high. The use of presentations, powerpoints, videos and case studies has made lectures interesting and interactive. Especially, practising what we were learning in parallel has made an everlasting impact on our minds. The institute also organises frequent seminars and cultural activities and invites prominent dignitaries from various races of life to share with us their life journey, challenges faced and how did they manage to overcome them. Learning from them is learning life lessons, which is beyond the classroom boundaries

Though at present, the opportunities in my domain are less but I wish to secure a good position in a reputed company. The future of Electrical Engineering is bright and challenging and I wish to experience that.
