Things to Avoid on TANCET Exam Day

Here are some of the practices that must be avoided on the TANCET 2025 exam day:

1. Don’t Carry Electronic Gadgets

Candidates should avoid carrying any electronic gadgets to the exam centre. These electronic gadgets include but is not limited to

  • Calculator
  • Mobile phone
  • Wristwatch
  • Bluetooth devices
  • Camera

Candidates are allowed inside the exam hall after frisking by the security officials.

2. Prohibited Material Inside the Exam Centre

Candidates are not allowed to carry anything except a pen and other stationery material mentioned on the admit card. The invigilator will provide a plain sheet for rough work for the TANCET exam. Candidates have to submit the rough sheet along with the question book and OMR sheet before leaving the exam centre.

3. Don’t Spend too Much Time on One Question

During the TANCET exam, candidates get 120 minutes to answer 100 questions. They should try to answer each question in one minute to have 20 minutes left for revision. Time management is crucial during exams. Therefore, candidates must avoid spending to much time on one question. In case the test taker finds he/she is tuck on a question for too long, they are advised to skip the same and revisit the same if time is left after attempting all the questions.

4. Don’t Leave TANCET Exam Hall Before Stipulated Time

Even if a candidate has finished his paper before time, he/she must revise the paper to ensure accuracy. If a test taker has doubts over an answer, he/she must use this time to verify its correctness.

5. Do not Involve in Malpractice

Test takers must not follow any malpractice inside the exam centre to get a high score. If any candidate is found to be following unfair means, s/he would be disqualified from taking the test immediately. Hence, candidates should try to score high based on their own capabilities.

6. Avoid Attempting all Questions

TANCET 2025 exam will have a negative marking for 1/3 marks. That is to say for every three incorrect responses marked by the candidate, one mark will be deducted. Candidates tend to attempt all the questions even if they do not know the answer. However, we recommend not to attempt a question on pure guesswork. With each incorrect response, the test taker will reduce his/her chance of TN MBA/MCA admission.

A good score in TANCET depends on the course for admission. Generally, a score of 60+ marks (out of 100) for MBA and 55+ for MCA is considered good for admission into top-tier colleges via TANCET.
