Students’ Speak: Know these six tips to clear placement rounds with ease
By: Piyush Mittal
Placements are a major event for all the final year students and most of them are confused about how to approach placement sessions. Piyush Mittal shares tips on how to prepare for placements and leave a strong impression on the interviewer.
The pre-final and final year students often have many questions in their minds regarding the campus placements. How should I start? From where to begin? How to prepare and what to prepare? What questions will be asked in the interview and how will the rounds take place? These are just some of the common questions that baffle the minds of students. Here are some of the tips and tricks to stay confident and clear all placement rounds.
A typical placement procedure comprises the following rounds:
- Pre-Placement talk
- Aptitude test
- Group discussion
- Personal Interview
- Result Declaration
It is very important to stay prepared and make a strong impression throughout the complete placement process. Here are some tips to keep in mind during the final placements:
- Make a crisp resume that highlights all your skills and abilities along with your qualifications. The resume should not exceed more than two pages.
- Research enough about the company and its background before you appear for the job interview. This exercise will help you figure out the most frequently asked important questions.
- Maintain proper eye contact and a positive gesture, along with a confident attitude, towards the interviewer and be polite during the interview round.
- Your dressing sense is very important, as it is the first impression that defines you and your character.
- Show your mutual co-operation and interest in the job assigned to you. Moreover, your basic concepts should be crystal-clear, and maintain a strong grip on your domain.
- Besides, learn to handle your stress better, inquire about the growth rate of the organization and mention both your weakness and plus points before the interviewer.
