RBI Assistant Exam

RBI Assistant exam is divided into prelims and mains exam. Candidates qualifying the mains exam as per RBI Assistant exam pattern are called for Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The preliminary exam is divided into three sections: English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The test comprises a total of 100 questions. The maximum mark allotted to the test is 100. The mains exam comprises Test of Reasoning, Test of English Language, Test of Numerical Ability, Test of General Awareness, and Test of Computer Knowledge. The question paper will have a total of 200 questions and the total marks of the test are 200. Candidates need to complete the paper within 135 minutes. There are sectional timings for the exam.

Q:   Can reserved category candidates apply against unreserved category vacancies for RBI Assistant exam?
A: 

Reserved category candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS may apply against unreserved vacancies, if vacancies have not been reserved for their category in their state. However, they must fulfil the eligibility criteria for age and educational qualification at par with unreserved candidates. They will, however, be eligible for fee concession (as applicable),  but will have to pay specified intimation charges.

Q:   I belong to PwBD category. Will I be provided scribe in RBI Assistant exam?
A: 

At the time of online/written examination, only those PwBD candidates (who have disability of 40% or more) who have physical limitation in typing/writing including that of speed would be allowed the facility to use the service of a scribe. In all such cases where a scribe is used, the following rules will apply. The candidate will have to arrange his/her own scribe/writer at his/her own cost. Both the candidate as well as the scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking, in the prescribed format with passport size photograph of the scribe at the time of examination.

The RBI assistants have the opportunity to get promoted to the post of manager in their careers. The following is the career path of an RBI assistant: 1. You join as an assistant in a particular regional office of the RBI. 2. You will have to serve a minimum of two years' service. 3. After two years of service, RBI assistants get multiple opportunities to get promoted to the officer level. 4. Normally, after a certain year of service, you can appear in the written test, and based on seniority, you can be promoted to the officer scale. 5. Other than that, RBI assistants may apply for merit-based promotions if they are graduates and have completed the JAIIB and CAIIB diplomas. 6. RBI Assistant application fee is INR 450 for OBC/General/EWS candidates, while it is INR 50 for SC/ST/PWD/EXS. The application fee of RBI Assistant can be paid online by using debit card/credit card, net banking, mobile wallets, etc. The application fee once paid by candidates will not be refunded by the examination authority.
