TNPSC Group 4 Syllabus and Breakup of Marks
TNPSC Group 4 syllabus is important to prepare for the exam with a right strategy, as the question paper will have the questions as per the topic or related topics included in the syllabus. The official notification mentions the syllabus of the TNPSC Group 4 exam. The TNPSC Group syllabus is also provided to download at the official website of TNPSC. TNPSC Group 4 prelims exam has only one offline question paper. The TNPSC Group 4 Prelims paper has 200 questions and the total allotted time is 3 hours. The candidates have to mark the answers on the OMR sheet provided to them by the exam body. There is no negative marking in the TNPSC Group 4 prelims exam. The candidates can compare their answers with the TNPSC Group 4 answer key when they are released. Now, the Tamil language part is made mandatory to qualify.

A. The TNPSC Group 4 notification states the minimum pass marks. The candidates need to score Ninety marks (90) out of three hundred marks. The candidates should not consider the pass marks as the cutoff marks. Both are different. The pass marks make a candidate eligible for selection but do not ensure it. On the other hand, TNPSC Group 4 cutoff is the mark where the candidate is selected for the next round. TNPSC Group 4 exam is a competitive exam and no score can be said as safe unless the final result.

The TNPSC Group 4 cutoff is released with the result. The cutoff is decided after the examination. The candidates are arranged in a category-wise merit list based on their marks secured in the written exams. The number of candidates that needs to be selected from each category is known and this number is marked in each list. The marks secured by the last candidates become the cutoff marks for that category.
The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission did not releease the TNPSC Group 4 cutoff with the result (released on March 24, 2023). The Commission is expected to release the exam cutoff after the completion of exam process.
Yes, recently TNPSC changed the Group 4 syllabus to incorporate the Tamil Language questions in the prelims exam. The Commission changed the exam syllabus to be in sync with the directions released by the state government to make the test of Tamil language in all the exams.
