With respect to academics, NUJS teaches students the updated version of law in accordance to recent legal developments. There is no rigid 'syllabus' which is taught although a basic framework is followed. This means that though certain basic themes are mandatorily discussed in a subject, professors have the leeway to discuss issues beyond the framework. This allows for professors to discuss recent happenings in the field of law as and when they happen and keep the students up to date in terms of their learning. On the other hand, since CU has a specific syllabus which is seldom updated, the scope of learning in the classroom is very limited and students are often not kept abreast of the latest legal developments. The infrastructure in NUJS is far better than that in Faculty of Law, CU. The NUJS campus undergoes regular renovation and repairs annually. Further both the boys and girls hostel are located on campus making it possible for students to study till late night in the library or prepare for moots, debates, paper presentations and other events. There is a laundry in the NUJS campus, microwaves on each floor in the hostel and an air-conditioned mess. NUJS also has a tie-up with Sports Authority of India allowing students to use professional level sports equipment and receive brilliant training in the sport of their choice (subject to them qualifying in the tests set by SAI)

Aspirants who have passed LLB/ five-year integrated LLB from a recognised university with an aggregate of 50% are eligible to apply for NUJS LLM course. Aspirants applying for LLM must have the documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission. The selection for LLM is based on CLAT score.

NLU Kolkata BA LLB (Hons) admissions are done based on CLAT scores. Candidates are shortlisted based on the minimum eligibility criteria set by the CLAT Consortium of NLUs. CLAT is an offline exam conducted at the national-level. It is a two-hour test required for admission to NUJS. The 2024 cutoff was concluded after Round 5 of the admissions list. The closing rank of the BA LLB (Hons) was 262 in Round 1 and 279 in the last round of CLAT for the general AI category candidates.

The life at.West Bengal National University of Juridicial Sciences ia very good.The faculty is above par for majority of the papers. As for the fees it isn't significantly higher than that of other top NLUs. Yes, the size of the campus is not much but being at the heart of Kolkata we have access to all sorts of entertainment and of course good food! In-campus infrastructure is significantly improving as I write this, with wifi throughout the campus and air-conditioning (except hostels), the Kolkata humidity won't trouble you much. Administration is also efficient and most of the communications happen through emails.

Above all West Bengal NUJS has a very good atmosphere, with consistent performance over the years and exceptional seniors it is the best in the law circuit. The brand value of WBNUJS is something to be proud of for every student studying there and I have no doubt that WBNUJS will keep on improving!
