A great campus life at a nice location.
Placements: When I spoke to my seniors about their placements, it seems about 90-95% of students got placed, the remaining 5% are people who haven't sat for placements. They opted other options like government exams. The internships that we get are firm internships like SAM, CAM, Trilegal, AZB, or litigation internships.
Infrastructure: In our college, the academic block is air-conditioned well. The Wi-Fi in the previous month hasn't been working well. The classrooms are very well-equipped and are spacious. The mess food is excellent. There are nearby hospitals for emergency. Indoor game culture is excellent, but we have quad limited for outdoor games like football or cricket. It has its own set of rules which is fun to play but we lack infrastructure for outdoor sports.
Faculty: Faculty members are very nice at least for the first two semesters as I have experienced. The course is beneficial by doing subjects like contracts, IPC, and family law in the first year gives us an edge over other law schools. The pass percentage is 40%, which is quite scorable as the internal components are well scoring with little effort.
Other: The college is always a very happening place. Some activities like moots, ADR, debate, or cultural events keep happening which are definitely followed by parties and DJ nights. The seniors are the best go-to persons and they are always ready to help. One doesn't get to feel out of space as there are so many activities happening.

It is the best law college in WB, ranked at 4th in the country for a reason.
Placements: There were 100% placements in the previous year for the batch of 2021. Top companies like Khaitan and Co., come for recruitment. Tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 law firms have also come for hiring. The highest salary package received was 60 LPA for the batch of 2021.
Infrastructure: The library is well stocked and has books and materials for all courses of law. It also gives access to various famous online libraries like hein online, SSC India Kanoon, and Westlaw amongst others. Classrooms are well ventilated, have air-conditioners and it is huge. Wi-Fi connectivity is strong. We have a basketball court, 2 gyms, football, and a cricket court.
Faculty: Our college has excellent faculty members. Most have them have done their doctorates. They explain the concept and course in-depth. They provide each student with personal teaching. The course curriculum is vast and relevant. Modules are informative and prepared by the professors themselves. Though there is a 100% pass percentage for semesters, there exists a comparative marking and hence securing above 80% is difficult.
Other: We have many committees present like a sports committee, cultural committee, alternate dispute resolution society, an informal discussion group to name a few. Students' body is efficient and democratic.

The crowd and campus life are great, but the fee is high.
Placements: The placement record of our college is the best among all law schools in the country, with almost 100% placements every year since 2008 (when the third batch graduated). Most of the students (around 60% of those who are interested) got placed in one of the seven tier-1 law firms of the country which pay upward of 15 LPA (and increases later on). Others get recruited by other law firms and companies. It can safely be said that the average salary of an NUJS graduate is around 9-10 LPA. Overall, NUJS is the best law school in terms of campus recruitment. For instance, an average student, like myself, also get hired by Trilegal, New Delhi.
Infrastructure: Campus life is a lot of fun with a relaxed curfew timing and a chill environment. It gives you the best of both worlds. The gender ratio is more or less 50:50, with students from at least 20 states in every batch which is pretty diverse. As mentioned earlier, NUJS prides itself in being a global powerhouse in moot courts and a national arsenal at parliamentary debating. The university had a rich culture of student collectivization and sporting excellence too. The mess food is decent with various cuisines including South Indian (idli, uttapam and dosa), Continental (burgers, sandwiches), Italian (Pasta), North Indian (mutter paneer, kofta, chicken korma) etc. The hostel facilities are decent. However, lately, for boys, double-seaters have had to be shared by 3 students during the first year. Most students can easily procure a single room in the third year and beyond.
Faculty: The faculty members are some of the best in the country. I have always been proud of the level of classroom discussions and discourse, which have honed both my public speaking and critical thinking and helped me understand various subjects much better.
Other: It is the best law school in the country, and you must take admission here if you can afford.

It provides good placements and an enriching college life.
Placements: The college had 100% placement records for the past few years. The average package ranged between 14-18 LPA by national law firms and 46-48 LPA by international law firms. The top recruiting companies are Trilegal, Khaitan & Co., SAM, CAM and other law firms.
Infrastructure: The facilities available are adequate. There is an extensive online library. In addition, the mess is student-managed and provides good food. Students have access to Sports Authority of India (SAI) facilities for sports and games. There is a playground on campus as well.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and highly qualified. The course curriculum is well-designed, and interesting electives are also offered. Students are prepared for internships and eventual employment through a series of curricular and co-curricular activities.
Other: The college has a great environment for co-curricular activities and provides numerous opportunities. Moot court competitions, debates and other curricular activities are available from the first-year students, with enthusiastic mentorship from seniors. It conducts the largest fest called Outlawed among all NLUs and the largest sports fest called Invicta as well.

A great platform - WBNUJS.
Placements: The placements at my college have been extremely good this year. While we got more than 50 job offers from Tier I law firms, tier 2 law firms, Banks and boutique firms have also come where we have got placements. Figures for placement have not yet finalized. Therefore a concrete number cannot be given. For the year 2018, there has been 100% placement. Approximately 100 people SAT for the placements and all they got jobs. The alumni base and the Placement wings of the respective batches help in getting the internships quite easily. Internships are not restricted to law firms but also cover policy research centers, judicial clerkship and under senior lawyers. The placement cell is quite effective and mostly helps in getting good internships. The internships are also nicely placed.
Infrastructure: Overall the infrastructure of the college is good. We have a fully air-conditioned library that has books covering multiple spheres. Our college is fully Wi-Fi enabled. The hostels are provided with LAN connection which is very fast. The classrooms have also been nicely structured. However, the only problem is that the college is extremely small (5 acres). Therefore, not any sports facilities are provided inside the college but the college has a tie with the Sports Authority of India which is very close to the college. SAI can be accessed at subsidized rates. The mess food is average which needs improvement.
Faculty: A number of courses are offered at WBNUJS. This can be seen from the increasing number of electives that are offered from the third year onwards. These electives are not restricted to pure law courses and are often interdisciplinary in nature. There is a certificate course wings which organize courses apart from the ones mentioned in the curriculum where various professors from other universities are invited. The faculty is average. While there are some great professors, overall the faculty needs improvement. Q.
Other: The campus crowd is great. Students from our college often get many scholarships for post graduated. There have Rhodes Scholars and many students have gotten scholarships for Ivy League colleges. Mooting and Debating culture in the college is phenomenal. The college teams have won many laurels both at the national and international level.

A mix of good and average facilities.
Placements: A recruitment committee that is comprised entirely of students of the outgoing batch, takes care of placements. They are in charge of liaising with law firms, companies and other organisations, setting up interviews etc. Faculty members or the college administration have no role to play therein. Our batch saw about 70-75% students being placed while our immediate senior batch saw about 60% students being placed. In our batch, the salaries ranged between INR 3,60,000 per annum to about INR 12,00,000 Lacs per annum. Placements ranged from law firms to corporate houses to non profit organisations to counsel practice to fellowships with universities.
Infrastructure: Our campus is built over 3-4 acres which houses an academic block, the hostels (for boys and girls separately) and the library. Sports facilities are provided in association with the Sports Authority of India. The library is very well-equipped with academic and recreational books and the head librarian herself is extremely knowledgeable and proactive in terms of procuring new books and their updated versions. Classrooms are fairly large and seat about 65-70 students. ACs were installed in the classrooms only in 2013. Food available at the mess is fairly palatable although quite greasy and laden with spices (and therefore, not fit for daily consumption). While in my time boys faced no issue with accommodation at th hostel, girls faced a severe accommodation crunch. There simply were't enough rooms to house all the girls comfortably especially considering every incoming batch saw an increase in the number of girls over boys.
Faculty: 50 subjects (compulsory and elective courses) are taught during the five year tenure. Some electives are quite offbeat and therefore, very interesting, e. g. Biotechnology law, Sports Law or Outer Space Law. In my time, most faculty members were extremely knowledgeable and used an interactive approach in taking classes which kept the students alert and encouraged them to participate on a day to day basis. Several seminar courses were also introduced to give us ample exposure to the practical aspects of laws and relevant market practices. However, in the recent couple of years, NUJS has seen a mass exodus of faculty, and the faculty student ratio has fallen substantially.
Other: In terms of extracurricular activities, there is one cultural fest (Outlawed) and a Sports fest (Invictus) that are organised by the student body with the help of external sponsors. In addition, there are plenty of societies and committees that one can be a part of depending on his/her interests. The moot court society and the debating society are perhaps two of the most competitive societies and participation in these events add a great deal of value to one's CV.

Q:   Is BA LLB at The WB National University of Juridical Sciences better than Faculty of Law, University of Calcutta?
A:

Yes the BA LLB at the West Bengal National University Of Juridical Sciences is better than the Faculty of Law.University of Calcutta

The West Bengal National University of Juridicial sciences is a very good college it is one among top 4 law colleges and the faculty is also very good and knowledgeable and many of the professors have deep  knowledge on the subjects they teach and they are as good as the faculty of law at University of Calcutta which is the public university at Kolkata . The infrastructure and faculty and course structure are very relevant and very good at West Bengal National University of Juridicial sciences and would suggest it as a top priority for your law course.

With respect to academics, NUJS teaches students the updated version of law in accordance to recent legal developments. There is no rigid 'syllabus' which is taught although a basic framework is followed. This means that though certain basic themes are mandatorily discussed in a subject, professors have the leeway to discuss issues beyond the framework. This allows for professors to discuss recent happenings in the field of law as and when they happen and keep the students up to date in terms of their learning. On the other hand, since CU has a specific syllabus which is seldom updated, the scope of learning in the classroom is very limited and students are often not kept abreast of the latest legal developments. Further NUJS uses a mix of the Socratic method and case analysis for teaching which allows students to develop practical problem solving skills in comparison to Faculty of Law, CU which majorly focuses on theoretical teaching from the bare act. Moreover, in NUJS the academic calendar is strictly followed while there is no certainty as to the length of semesters or the duration or timing of exams in Faculty of Law, CU.

The infrastructure in NUJS is far better than that in Faculty of Law, CU. The NUJS campus undergoes regular renovation and repairs annually. Further both the boys and girls hostel are located on campus making it possible for students to study till late night in the library or prepare for moots, debates, paper presentations and other events. There is a laundry in the NUJS campus, microwaves on each floor in the hostel and an air-conditioned mess. NUJS also has a tie-up with Sports Authority of India allowing students to use professional level sports equipment and receive brilliant training in the sport of their choice (subject to them qualifying in the tests set by SAI)
