Top NLUs Cutoff for CLAT: Category and Course-Wise Cutoff for all NLUs

The Consortium of NLUs has started releasing the CLAT 2026 cutoff for all the NLUs. Clat is valid for admission to the 5-year integrated LLB (UG) and one-year LLM (PG) courses. This year, a total of five cutoff lists are expected to be released for the participating NLUs for selecting students. In the meantime, candidates can read this article to get an idea of the top NLUs' cutoffs for the past three years, which will help them understand the cutoff trends. 

In 2025, the top NLU cutoff for CLAT was concluded with the release of the three-seat allotment result. Considering the first-round closing ranks, NLSIU was one of the toughest NLUs among the General AI category students to secure a seat for admission to the BA LLB (Hons.) course. NLUs Cutoff Trends: Year-Wise CLAT Cutoff Ranks

The CLAT cutoff 2025 was concluded after the Round 3 admission list for several NLUs. Among the 22 NLUs in India, NLU Bangalore had the most competitive cutoff ranks for admissions, followed by NALSAR and NLU Kolkata. For 2025, the CLAT cutoff lists have been released for top NLUs, including NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR, and NLIU Bhopal. NLUs CLAT Cutoff 2025 for BA LLB Hons 

For BA LLB (Hons) admission, NLSIU Bangalore was the most competitive to get into for students belonging to the General AI quota. Candidates who are unable to secure a place at NLU Bangalore due to the competitive CLAT cutoff 2025 can also consider other NLUs with more lenient cutoff ranks. The easy grabs for students were NLU Kolkata, GNLU Gandhinagar, and RMNLU Lucknow, with CLAT last round closing ranks of 444, 711, and 780, respectively, for BA LLB (Hons) admission, among the students belonging to the General AI quota. The cutoff ranks vary for different rounds, courses, specialisations, categories, and quotas.

NLUs CLAT Cutoff 2025 for LLM 

NLUs offer LLM courses across multiple specialisations, such as Intellectual Property Law, Corporate and Commercial Law, etc. Among all the NLUs, NLU Bangalore topped the list for being the most competitive NLU for students seeking admission to the LLM course at the PG level. For NLSIU Bangalore, the CLAT round 1 and round 2 closing ranks for LLM admission were 109 and 145, respectively. The seats for the LLM course at this law college were filled during Round 2; hence, further rounds were not released for admission. Top NLUs as per NIRF Ranking 2025 and 2024

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 was announced for different streams, including Law. Basis the 2025 ranking, National Law School of India University, Bangalore, topped the list in the Law category. NLU Delhi grabbed the second position, followed by NALSAR Hyderabad.
