After completing my higher schooling, I decided to choose my career in Hotel Management as it was always my dream to be a chef. To sustain my dream, I needed a platform that could provide me with an opportunity to showcase my skills. I finally got this chance after taking admission at Lovely Professional University. LPU provided me with much more than I desired and helped me reach where I am now.

I enjoyed my graduation life at LPU a lot. LPU provided various live practicals and projects to its hotel management students, which helped me gain real-life experience and develop problem-solving skills. We had a hotel at the campus where we could get training. In addition to this, we got numerous internship opportunities at Taj Hotels, Oberoi Hotels and many more. Moreover, LPU also offered a golden opportunity for the hotel management students to earn some extra pocket money through ODC (outdoor catering). With the help of ODC, I was able to gain some hands-on experience in catering as well as got help with my finances. Not only this, we also got an opportunity to cook for the poor people in collaboration with the welfare group of LPU; which helped me enhance my knowledge, attain certificates, and also understand the different tastes of different people in an effective way. Moreover, in case of any guest visit, we got an opportunity to cook for the guests and serve them.

Apart from the curriculum, LPU also provided me with a platform to get indulged into extra-curricular activities. I got a chance to be a part of the organizing team for the university and take part in cooking events. I also got a chance to instate a food stall during the university fest. These extra-curricular activities helped me enhance my self-confidence and critical thinking abilities. We also had an opportunity to cater the President of India and Shahrukh Khan to His Holiness Dalai Lama.

LPU provides its hotel management students with an opportunity to get prepared well for their university placements. We were given preparatory classes and practical tests in which we were acquainted with the possible interview questions and were given tricks on cracking interviews of five-star hotels. LPU is responsible for conducting placement interviews for various top hotels such as Taj, JW Marriott, Radisson, Oberoi and many more. Students are also given soft skill classes to enhance their personality and to learn etiquette required for a hospitality career. These soft skill classes were very beneficial for me as they made me presentable and confident for my future.

LPU used to conduct regular cooking and hospitality competitions for its students, which was a great break for us to benefit from our talents. With the help of practical knowledge and experience gained through various events conducted by LPU, we participated in various competitions successfully.

I would say LPU is the most preferable platform for any hotel management student if they want to gain real-life practical knowledge and utilize their skills in this career. Students cannot get more opportunities than those provided by LPU to showcase their talents.

Well, LPU is fairly good for B.Tech ECE. The 2025 NIRF ranks #50 on engineering, with an industry-oriented curriculum, VLSI/IoT labs, and tie-ups for placements: a rate of 91%, an average of INR 6.99 LPA, and the highest of INR 20-30 LPA for Capgemini, Bosch, and TCS. Quite solid for core/IT roles.
