Osmania University to host 105th Indian Science Congress next year

Osmania University has been selected by the Indian Science Congress Association to organize the 105th session of Indian Science Congress next year.
The 105th session of Indian Science Congress, a gathering of scientific luminaries from countries across the world, will be held at the Hyderabad campus of Osmania University from January 3 to 7 next year.
Osmania University had hosted the 85th session of the event almost two decades ago in the year 1998.
Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof S Ramachandram on Wednesday received a communication from the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) General President Achyuta Samanta in this regard.
In the communication, the association informed the university about its selection to host the 105th conference of the Indian Science Congress, said a release issued by the university.
The Vice-Chancellor thanked the association for giving the varsity an opportunity to host the prestigious event. "The faculty, staff and students would work wholeheartedly for the successful conduct of the session," Ramachandram said.
The 104th session of the event was held at the Sri Venkateswara University in Tiruapti in January this year. The five-day conference was attended by half a dozen Nobel Prize winners from different countries and 14,000 scientists and scholars from India and abroad.
The theme of this year was 'Science and Technology for National Development' and the conclave was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi.
