Age Limit

There is no age limit for applying to C-CAT 2026 or CDAC PG Certificate programmes. Anyone with the required educational qualifications can apply, regardless of age.

Important Notes on Eligibility

  • If you are in the final year of your degree, you can still register and take C-CAT. Your admission will be provisional until you submit your final results later.
  • You must be able to provide original certificates and mark sheets during the admission process. Without proper proof, you may lose your seat.
  • Meeting eligibility does not guarantee automatic admission. You must also:
    • Register online for C-CAT
    • Sit for and clear the exam
    • Get a good rank
    • Participate in seat allotment and CDAC CCAT counselling

Only qualified candidates with good ranks are considered for final admissions.

How to Check Your Eligibility

  • Do you have a completed Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Tech?
  • Is your degree recognised under the 10+2+4 or 10+3+3 framework?
  • If you have a Master’s (MSc/MS), is it in CS/IT/Electronics?
  • Do you meet the minimum marks required for the specific PG Certificate you want?
  • Are you a final year student able to submit your results before the course starts?
  • Do you have all the required documents ready for verification?

If most answers are YES, you are likely eligible to take the C-CAT 2026 exam for admission. Always cross-check with the official advertisement or admission booklet on cdac.in for the latest and accurate details.

Understanding CDAC C-CAT Eligibility Through Examples

To make it easier, here are examples of students who can apply:

  • Example 1: You are a B.Tech in Computer Science graduate with 60% marks.

You are eligible to apply for C-CAT 2026 and PG Certificate courses.

  • Example 2: You completed an M.Sc in IT and your Bachelor’s degree included a Physics paper.

You are eligible to apply because an M.Sc. in IT is an accepted degree, no matter what you studied in your graduation.

  • Example 3: You are a final-year B.Tech. Electronics student expecting results soon.

You can apply provisionally and submit final marks later.

  • Example 4: You have BCA with good marks, but no MSc or engineering degree.

For the 2026 admission cycle, having only a BCA degree without a postgraduate degree (like MCA or M.Sc.) makes you ineligible for the core CDAC PG Certificate programs

Conclusion

Make sure you read the official eligibility notice for C-CAT 2026 and course-wise requirements before applying. The moment you decide to apply for CDAC C-CAT, be clear about its eligibility criteria. CDAC suggests-"Candidates must verify the eligibility of each course before opting for it during choice filling. It will entirely be the responsibility of candidates to prove that they satisfy the minimum eligibility requirements of the courses for which they are seeking admission."

During CDAC C-CAT counselling, seat allotment is based on your C-CAT rank, chosen preferences, and seat availability. Higher-ranked candidates get priority during the allocation process.

Yes. Participating in CDAC C-CAT online counselling is mandatory. Without selecting courses and centres during this stage, you will not be considered for seat allocation.
