We all are facing challenges due to the current situation prevailing in our country and across the world. To promote social distancing during the pandemic, universities and colleges are practicing virtual/online classes.
We at IILM University are trying to adapt and adjust ourselves so that our learning does not stop. At IILM University, Gurgaon we are following regular time table and all the lectures are going on through online classes on Zoom.
Our studies are going full-fledged and the university is managing pretty well. The syllabus is running at its pace. All our assignments and presentations are being taken care of. Students are doing various presentations, online quizzes and assessments online itself. All the study material in the form of PPTs, eBooks and videos are being provided to all the students.
The university is even conducting open hour subject wise so that any doubts and queries of students and can be addressed. The faculty at IILM comes from leading institutions across the country and have varied industry experience. The faculty members are easily approachable and very supportive. They are also putting in extra efforts for which we all very thankful.
90% of students are able to take online classes very well and hence there has been a negligible loss of our studies.
Students are also very well connected with industry mentors which are helping them in providing insights into the industry, correct guidance and valuable information which helps the students to be industry-ready and be prepared for job interviews. Also, with the guidance of industry mentors students are able to enhance their CVs. The placement committee is executing various preparatory workshops, aptitude tests and mock interviews that are being conducted through video calls.
Not only academics but the clubs and societies of IILM are conducting online fun and learning activities as well which helps us all to stay positive, lifts up our mood and of course, we get to learn something new! These fun sessions are helping us all to keep our spirits high.
Our faculties are in touch with us on a regular basis. They are being very cooperative and all the students have been encouraged to join various online courses on various platforms like Udemy, Coursera, Edx, etc as well so that we can increase our skill set and enhance our knowledge.
The rapid spread of COVID-19 has showcased the importance of building adaptability and flexibility in our approach to face various threats, from pandemic disease to extremist violence to climate insecurity, and yes, rapid technological change.
This pandemic has also reminded all the students about the other skills they need in this unpredictable world such as informed decision making, creative problem solving, and perhaps above all, adaptability.

In design, a lot depends on projects, juries, and presentations rather than just written exams. So evaluation can feel a bit subjective at times.
That said, most professors do explain rubrics (things like concept, execution, research, and presentation matters), and because the system is project-heavy

It's a mix, but definitely not just traditional lectures.
- Hands-on learning is a big part with projects, practical work, real-world simulations
- Case studies and presentations are used a lot, especially in business-related courses

This depends on expectations, but overall it's decent value and ROI. Fees for many UG programs are in the 3–4.5 LPA range, and placements are generally average (roughly 5–7 LPA range for many students).
What you're essentially paying for is:
- location + exposure
- flexibility in courses
- placement support
