The National Testing Agency (NTA) has closed online JEE Mains session 2 registration. The last date to fill and submit the online form was February 25. NTA JEE Mains session 2 application form link was active at jeemain.nta.nic.in. To fill the NTA JEE application form for the session 2 exam, candidates have to register, fill the online form.

JEE Mains Session 2 Registration 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has closed online JEE Mains session 2 registration. The last date to fill and submit the online form was February 25. NTA JEE Mains session 2 application form link was active at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

 To fill the NTA JEE application form for the session 2 exam, candidates have to register, fill the online form, upload a live photo, upload the documents needed and pay the application fees. However, the second time appearing candidates can skip the new registration and directly proceed to pay the fee to apply for the April attempt.

JEE Mains 2026 Session 2 Registration Process: For First-Time Applicants

First-time applicants are basically those who did not appear for the January session or those who have just been on the list of meeting JEE Main eligibility criteria. Candidates can check the process below on how to register for JEE Mains 2026 (April session) below -

Register first: To register for the JEE Main 2026 session 2 exam, candidates need to keep the following details ready-

  • Name
  • Father’s Name
  • Mother’s name
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Address details
  • Contact details - email ID and mobile number (which is active)
  • Password (as per the guidelines issued)

Email ID and Mobile Number Verification: Once all details are submitted, an OTP (one-time password) will be sent to registered mobile number and email ID. It is advised to keep the contact details active, as NTA will send all event-related information to the communication details provided. 

Fill JEE Main 2026 Registration Form (April session attempt): After the successful verification process, candidates will be able to access JEE Main login 2026 to fill in further information. To apply, candidates have to login with their application number and date of birth to complete the following details:

  • Contact information
  • Disability details
  • Personal information
  • Identity details
  • Register APAAR ID (if needed)
  • Choice of exam cities 
  • Educational qualification details
  • Emergency contact details
  • Live photo capture
  • Documents required for JEE Main application form
  • Confirmation declaration 

Payment of Application Fees: After submitting all details, candidates will have to proceed to pay JEE Main 2026 registration fees. The fee details can be checked below -

Downloading of Confirmation Page: The JEE Main confirmation page is the document which is received after successfully submitting the application form and fees. This document confirms that your form has been sent to NTA and is under scrutiny. 

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Application Process for Reappearing Students

NTA also allows students from session 1 to attempt the session 2 exam. Candidates who have already applied for JEE Main session 1 can skip the registration process and directly proceed to fee payment and download their confirmation page.

How to Capture a Live Photograph for JEE Mains 2026 Registration Session 2?

To capture a live photograph in JEE Main 2026, candidates have to follow the process below -

  • Candidates must switch on their camera or connect their webcam to the device used for filling JEE Main application form 2026.
  • If the device does not support a webcam, then QR code on the right can be scanned by the candidate using a mobile or tablet. 

NOTE: The background must be light-coloured with proper lighting and 80% face visibility.

JEE Main April Session Form Correction 2026

The correction window for JEE Mains 2026 session 2 will be available after the completion of the registration process. Candidates can access the JEE Mains form correction facility using their login credentials and get details rectified before the deadline date. 

Candidates who have applied for JEE Main 2026 session 1 and registered for session 2 can also access the correction window.

Existing candidates, i.e. candidates who are already registered during the registration of JEE Mains Session 1 and who have also applied for Session 2, can edit the details below:

JEE Mains 2026 Session 2 Application Form: Password Creation and Resetting

During the online JEE Mains session form filling, the candidate will be required to choose a password and a security question and its answer. The candidate is advised to record/remember their password for all future logins.

For all future logins to the candidate portal, candidates have to use their application number and password. Candidates can change their passwords after logging in if they want.

The JEE Mains password should have:

  • 8 to 13 characters.
  • at least one Upper case alphabet.
  • at least one lowercase alphabet.
  • at least one numeric value.
  • at least one special character, like ! @ # $ % ^ & * - .

Important Instructions for Candidates Registering for JEE Mains Session 2 (April)

All those candidates who are appearing for the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 registration should keep in mind the following details:

  • The JEE Mains application fees can only be paid online using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI. Processing charges and GST as applicable are chargeable to the candidate (in addition to the examination fee) by the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway Integrator. 
  • The JEE Main 2026 session 2 application number printed on the computer-generated confirmation page must be mentioned in all such correspondence. It is therefore essential to note down the application number printed on the confirmation page.
  • Keep the confirmation page safe, as it is the proof of your successful application submission.
  • The candidate is advised not to disclose or share their password with anybody. Neither NTA nor NIC will be responsible for the violation or misuse of the password of a candidate.
  • Candidates should remember to log out at the end of their session so that the particulars of the candidate cannot be tampered with or modified by unauthorised persons.

No, candidates can not upload black & white photograph in JEE Mains application form.

  • Photograph should be in JPEG/JPG format
  • Dimention has to be 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm

Also, the photograph should be clear with white background. The candidates are allowed to have spectacles in the photograph but sunglasses and caps are not allowed.
