For a similar course like MCDBA, you can consider Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator Associate (MCADAA) certificate that also implements and manages operational aspects of cloud-native and hybrid data platform solutions built with Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Azure Data Services. Course prepares you to perform day-to-day operations by applying knowledge of T-SQL and using a variety of methods and tools.

MCDBA Certification Exams 

MCDBA candidates are required to pass following four exams to achieve certification. This includes three core exams and one elective exam. For core section, candidates are required to pass one SQL Server administration exam, one SQL Server design exam and a Windows 2000 Server exam to fulfil networking systems core requirements. While elective exam provides proof of expertise with a specific Microsoft server product.

MCADAA Certification Exam

Above-mentioned exams are for MCDBA certification, however, if you are thinking to go for MCADAA certification since MCDBA is no longer exist then you need to pass Exam DP-300: Administering Relational Databases on Microsoft Azure. This exam will test your ability to accomplish following tasks:

• Plan and implement data platform resources
• Implement a secure environment
• Monitor and optimize operational resources
• Optimize query performance
• Perform automation of tasks
• Plan and implement a High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HADR) environment and
• Perform administration by using T-SQL
