What is JEXPO Exam?

The West Bengal State Council of Technical Education used to conduct the JEXPO entrance exam, which has now been scrapped. Admission to 1st-year polytechnic courses in West Bengal is done through the merit list prepared by the authorities for all the registered candidates based on the class 10th marks. JEXPO stands for the Joint Entrance Examination for Polytechnics for admissions to diploma courses in engineering/ technology/ architecture.

JEXPO Eligibility Criteria 2026

The JEXPO 2026 eligibility criteria will be announced on the authority's website. Those who seek polytechnic admission at participating colleges in West Bengal must check the eligibility before filling the online application form. The eligibility criteria include age limit, nationality, educational qualification, etc.  As per the previous year's notification, the JEXPO eligibility criteria is given below.

  • Nationality of the candidate: Candidates should be Indian citizens. 
  • Age criteria: No upper age limit. But the candidate’s date of birth should not be after 01.07.2010. 
  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10th class examination from any recognised board. Candidates who are appearing in their 10th class are also eligible to apply. 
  • Marks criteria: Candidates must have secured 35% marks in their 10th class.

JEXPO Application Form 2026

West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development will conduct JEXPO 2026 registration online on its official website at scvtwb.in. Candidates should submit the application forms before the deadline. The steps to successfully submit the JEXPO application form 2026 are given below. 

  • Visit the JEXPO website - scvtwb.in 2026.
  • Complete the JEXPO registration 2026 using your personal details.  
  • After registration, candidates have to fill details in the application form. 
  • Upload the required documents as per the specifications. 
  • Pay the JEXPO application fee in online mode.

JEXPO Result 2026

The authority will release the JEXPO merit list online at the official website. The JEXPO 2026 result will be available in the form of a merit list. Candidates can check their rank using their enrollment number. If more than two candidates score equal marks, then the authorities opt for the tie-breaking formula. Students whose names are mentioned on the merit list can participate in the counselling process.

Q:   What is the question pattern of JEXPO exam?
A: 

West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development has discontinued the VOCLET exam. Admissions are now based on a merit list prepared on the basis of the qualifying exam.

Q:   Is it mandatory to attempt all the questions in the JEXPO exam?
A: 

No, it is not at all mandatory to attempt all the questions of the JEXPO entrance examination. All the questions will be asked in Multiple Choice Question format in JEXPO exam. In total 100 questions are asked and each carry one mark. There is no negative marking in the JEXPO examination. Candidates need to compete the exam in two hours. Also, more than one answer against any question will be treated as incorrect response/wrong answer. 

Q:   Who Sets the syllabus for JEXPO?
A: 

The JEXPO Syllabus is released by the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education (WBSCTE). It is a state-level entrance examination that offers admission toPolytechniccourses including Engineering, Pharmacy, Agriculture. The mode of examination is offline in Bengali and English. The JEXPO Examination will comprise physicalScienceand Mathematics.

Some of the DO's to apply for JEXPO admission process are given below:

  • Apply before the last date.
  • Fill in all the valid details.
  • Choose your preferred colleges and courses in the order of preference.
  • Report for counselling as per the schedule.
  • Pay the required admission fee and complete the formalities to confirm your seat.

Don'ts are as follows:

  • Do not submit an incomplete or incorrect form.
  • Do not skip on counselling or the admission process.

The authorities will not issue any JEXPO admit card as the exam has been discontinued. Admissions are now based on a merit list prepared on the basis of the qualifying exam.

The JEXPO exam has been discontinued. Admissions are now done on the basis of merit list based on Class 10 marks. However, when exam was conduct4ed, there used to be one hour break between two sessions.

The JEXPO result is released as a merit list. Candidates whose names are mentioned on the JEXPO merit list have to log in to the candidate portal and download their rank cards. Only qualified candidates will be considered for admission during the counselling process.
