IIM Calcutta warns management aspirants against Fake CAT 2024 Website

An official notification on the CAT 2024 website has highlighted that while advertisements for CAT have been published across various newspapers in multiple languages, only information provided on the official CAT website should be deemed reliable.

CAT 2024 Registration: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has issued a crucial alert to aspirants of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 regarding fraudulent websites masquerading as official platforms for CAT registration. The warning comes in response to several misleading advertisements and phishing attempts that have surfaced recently.

Fraudulent Websites and Phishing Scams

An official notification on the CAT 2024 website has highlighted that while advertisements for CAT have been published across various newspapers in multiple languages, only information provided on the official CAT website should be deemed reliable. The legitimate website for CAT 2024 is [https://iimcat.ac.in](https://iimcat.ac.in). The notification warns that there are no other authorized websites for CAT registration or application submissions.

The notification further reads, “CAT Centre has been made aware of a fraudulent website posing as a website for CAT registration, targeting applications and soliciting personal information. We urge all applicants and stakeholders to be cautious and visit only our official website and not fall prey to spurious and malicious websites engaging in pharming/phishing that resemble the official CAT website.”

Guidance for Aspirants

IIM Calcutta has outlined specific precautions for candidates to follow during the registration process:

- Verify the URL: Ensure that you are on the official CAT website by checking the URL.

- Be Cautious of Unsecured Websites: Avoid providing personal information or making payments on unsecured or suspicious websites.

Reporting Suspicious Activity

Registration and Exam Details

CAT 2024 Registration is currently open and will remain so until September 13, 2024. Interested and eligible candidates can register through the official website. The CAT 2024 exam is scheduled to be conducted on November 24 across 170 cities. Admit cards will be available for download from November 5.

The CAT scores are widely accepted by around 21 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and over 1,000 other MBA institutions for admission into their MBA programs.
