Candidates with the minimum percentile for the BSc nursing programme is 98.7938 for the General category, above 94.8229 for SC candidates, above 91.2454 for ST candidates, above 98.0394 for OBC category, and above 57.5782 for PwBD (UR) and 44.1780 (Reserved) category candidates. For Foreign Nationals, the cutoff percentile is 76.2083.

PGIMER BSc Nursing 2026 Counselling

The  PGIMER BSc Nursing counselling will begin after the exam results are declared. PGIMER Chandigarh will organise the entire counselling process on the official website. The counselling schedule and the seat matrix will be released initially for both courses. Counselling for the BSc (hons) and Post basic course will be done separately. Candidates will have to fill in the choices and lock the options. The seat allotment result of each round of counselling will also be declared separately.

Q:   Who conducts counselling for the PGIMER BSc Nursing and BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) programme?

The counselling for PGIMER BSc Nursing and BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) programme is being conducted by the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. Candidates are required to be present for the counselling process and formalities at the pre-mentioned time and location. There will tentatively be four rounds of counselling. The round-1 counselling concluded in August 2025. It is mandatory to present a set of self-attested documents along with the originals for verification on the day of PGIMER nursing counselling.  

Q:   What documents are required for the PGIMER nursing counselling?

To participate in the PGIMER nursing counselling, the candidate must keep the following documents: 

  • Class 12 mark sheet
  • Original copy of the admit card with the signature and seal of the Invigilator
  • Scorecard issued by PGIMER Chandigarh
  • Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate or Class 10 Certificate).
  • Pass Certificate of the qualifying examination (class 12)
  • Recently clicked passport-sized colour photographs
  • Caste certificate under which the candidate is applying
Q:   Can I participate in the second round if I have participated in first round of PGIMER nursing counselling?
A: 

No, if you have participated in the PGIMER nursing Round 1 counselling, you will not be able to participate in round-2 counselling. Only those candidates will be able to carry forward the counselling process who did not wish to accept the seat offered in round-1. 

Q:   What is the PGIMER Counselling cutoff for the candidates belonging to General category?
A: 

Candidates interested in applying for the PGIMER nursing programme belonging to the General category must have scored above 97.7319 marks in the exam to be eligible for applying to the institute.

PGIMER BSC Nursing 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the PGIMER BSC Nursing eligibility 2026 before proceeding with the PGIMER BSc Nursing application form 2026. Have a look at the eligibility criteria below-

  1. The applicant must be an Indian citizen
  2. The aspirant should have passed the class 12 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English subjects, or any other equivalent examination with at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate
  3. Aspirants appearing for the class 12 exam are also be eligible to apply
  4. The maximum age of the candidate should not exceed more than 25 years and not be less than 17 years in the year of admission

Q:   How many rounds of counselling will be held by PGIMER to grant admission to BSc nursing program?
A: 

The PGIMER nursing exam was held in four rounds, with three rounds being conducted online and the last round being held in offline mode at the institute campus. The last round is also known as the Open round of counselling. The last round is optional; if the seats remain vacant, then only the offline open round is carried out. 

Q:   Will I get a refund of my fees if I do not appear for PGIMER Nursing entrance exam?
A: 

No, the PGIMER Nursing application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. The onus of the exam will be solely on the applicants after applying for the entrance exam.

Q:   My name is not in the PGIMER nursing merit list, have I qualified for participating in the counselling?
A: 

The PGIMER nursing merit list shows the names of all those candidates who have qualified for participating in the counselling process. In case your name did not appear in the merit list, then you might not be eligible for further processes. However, candidates can log in to the PGIMER admission portal to download their scorecard. 

Q:   When will PGIMER BSc Nursing counselling start?

The PGIMER BSc Nursing counselling 2026 will start after the announcement of results. It is expected that the counselling will begin in August 2026.

PGIMER BSc Nursing 2026 Admit Card

The PGIMER BSc Nursing 2026 admit card was released online. The hall ticket was issued at pgimer.edu.in, by providing the login details at the admission portal. Candidates were advised to take a coloured printout of it and keep it safe for future reference. It is mandatory to carry the admit card to the test centre. It is the only identity proof that validates that you must appear for the exam.

PGIMER BSc Nursing 2026 Exam Pattern

The PGIMER BSc Nursing 2026 exam pattern states that it is an online exam of 90 minutes. There are a total of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from General English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and General Knowledge/Current Affairs sections.  Each question carries 1 mark, and there is a negative marking as well in the exam.
