PGIMER BSc Nursing 2025 Counselling has concluded for the academic year 2025-26. It was held on the official website from August 11, 2025, to August 14, 2025 at NINE Auditorium, PGIMER, Chandigarh. The document verification took place on the same day.

The counselling of PGIMER Nursing 2025 was conducted in offline mode. Candidates who successfully scored the minimum qualifying marks were shortlisted for the counselling round based on the PGIMER BSc Nursing result 2025The PGIMER BSc Round-1 counselling-related guidelines have been updated on this page. It is important to submit the printout of the online application form and photocopies of mark sheets of metric, Class 12, GNM, registration certificate, reservation certificate etc. by the specified date in the office of the Principal, National Institute of Nursing Education, PGIMER, Chandigarh. Candidates can also send their documents via email. These documents are essentially required for scrutiny of the application, failing which the candidature of the candidates will be cancelled.

PGIMER Nursing Counselling Guidelines 2025

Counselling-related important instructions are mentioned here: 

1. The seats in PGIMER BSc Nursing were allotted strictly based on merit.  

2. All the qualified candidates had to present themselves physically during counselling.  

3. The qualified applicants had to visit the auditorium of the National Institute of Nursing Education (NINE), PGIMER, Chandigarh for document verification. 

4. Original documents were required along with one set of photocopy.  

5. For B.Sc. Nursing (4 years), the process was held in the auditorium from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 AM on 13.08.2024 for document verification and by 10:00 AM on 14.08.2024 for counseling. 

6. Selected candidates had to pay the fee etc. through the online mode (through debit/credit card only)  / Demand Draft / Bankers Cheque on the spot, failing which her / his selection was treated as cancelled and seats were offered to the next candidate in order of merit.

The Demand draft (DD) / banker cheque (purchased / issued from Bank and not from the personal cheque book) should be in favour of “Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh” as per amount (two separate DDs/ Banker’s cheque) mentioned below:-

(i) B.Sc. Nursing 1st Draft/Banker’s Cheque - INR 850/- on account of course fee

2nd Draft/Banker’s Cheque - on account of course fee INR 5,000/- on account of security

Q:   What is the PGIMER Nursing Counselling Cutoff ?
A: 

Candidates with the minimum percentile for the BSc nursing programme is 98.7938 for the General category, above 94.8229 for SC candidates, above 91.2454 for ST candidates, above 98.0394 for OBC category, and above 57.5782 for PwBD (UR) and 44.1780 (Reserved) category candidates. For Foreign Nationals, the cutoff percentile is 76.2083.

PGIMER BSc Nursing counselling started in August 2025 after the announcement of the results. All the information related to the counselling process is shared at the official website, pgimer.edu.in. Candidates who successfully score the minimum qualifying marks will be shortlisted for the counselling round. All processes, such as document verification and fee payment, will be done at the institute itself by the counselling committee.

PGIMER Nursing 2025 counselling was concluded in four rounds, depending on the availability of the seats. Details about the counselling rounds are mentioned below:

  • First Counselling: As many as eight times the number of total seats available in each category, candidates were called for each seat. In case, if any candidate does not choose any of the available seats, he/she can attend the next round of counselling.
  • Second Counselling: If any vacant seat is left after the first counselling, the conducting body organizes the second counselling round. Candidates who did not choose the respective seat were eligible to attend the second round.
  • Third Counselling: In continuation of the first and second counselling, if any seats were left vacant, the third counselling round was organized
  • Open Counselling: To conclude the counselling process, the conducting body could organize open counselling to fill up all the vacant seats (if any). The open counselling round was based on the merit rank of the participating candidates.

Q:   Who conducts counselling for the PGIMER BSc Nursing and BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) programme?
A: 

The counselling for PGIMER BSc Nursing and BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) programme is being conducted by the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. Candidates are required to be present for the counselling process and formalities at the pre-mentioned time and location. There will tentatively be four rounds of counselling. The round-1 counselling concluded in August 2025. It is mandatory to present a set of self-attested documents along with the originals for verification on the day of PGIMER nursing counselling.

No, if you have participated in the PGIMER nursing Round 1 counselling, you will not be able to participate in round-2 counselling. Only those candidates will be able to carry forward the counselling process who did not wish to accept the seat offered in round-1.

Documents Required for the PGIMER Nursing 2025 Counselling

The candidate is required to carry a set of documents along with them on the day of Counselling. They have to bring a set of self-attested documents along with the originals for verification on the day of PGIMER nursing 2025 counselling. Below is the list of documents required for the counselling:

  • Original copy of the admit card with the signature and seal of the Invigilator
  • Merit list copy mentioning the rank of the candidate
  • Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate or Class 10 Certificate).
  • Pass Certificate of the qualifying examination (class 12)
  • Class 12 mark sheet
  • Character and Conduct Certificate from the Principal of the School/Institute last attended
  • In case of OBC/ SC/ ST certificate issued within the last six months, from a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar
  • OBC/SC/ST category candidates should provide their original proof of certificate to claim a reservation
  • Transfer Certificate from the Principal of the School/Institution last attended
  • Migration Certificate from the School
  • In the case of Punjab residents, proof of residence or domicile is required
  • Medical Certificate in case of PwD Candidate.

Candidates who get shortlisted in the PGIMER nursing counselling had to deposit the course fee in the form of a demand draft/banker’s cheque only. It was mandatory to pay the fee through two bank drafts/banker’s cheques amounting to the fee amount mentioned below, in favour of the “Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh” on the date of counselling.
