PGIMER BSc Nursing Counselling 2026 is ongoing. The institute scheduling the second physical counselling round for admission to BSc Nursing (4 Years) and BSc Nursing (Post Basic) programmes. The second counselling round will be held on September 15, 2026, at the NINE Auditorium, PGIMER, Chandigarh. Document verification for candidates of both programmes will begin at 9 AM, followed by counselling at 3 PM.

Candidates who cleared the PGIMER BSc Nursing result 2026 with minimum qualifying marks and were named in the merit list could participate in the counselling. PGIMER has set different qualifying percentiles for each category and course. Candidates must report in person for document verification. They should carry their original documents and one set of photocopies.

Candidates selected during counselling will have to pay course fee and security amount. For BSc Nursing (Post Basic), candidates need to pay Rs 850 as course fee and Rs 5,000 as security. For BSc Nursing (4 Years), the course fee is Rs 835 with Rs 5,000 as security.

Documents Required for the PGIMER Nursing 2026 Counselling

Candidates were required to carry a set of documents along with them on the day of Counselling. They needed to bring a set of self-attested documents along with the originals for verification on the day of PGIMER nursing 2026 counselling. Below is the list of documents required for the counselling:

  • Original copy of the admit card with the signature and seal of the Invigilator
  • Merit list copy mentioning the rank of the candidate
  • Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate or Class 10 Certificate).
  • Pass Certificate of the qualifying examination (class 12)
  • Class 12 mark sheet
  • Character and Conduct Certificate from the Principal of the School/Institute last attended
  • In case of OBC/ SC/ ST certificate issued within the last six months, from a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar
  • OBC/SC/ST category candidates should provide their original proof of certificate to claim a reservation
  • Transfer Certificate from the Principal of the School/Institution last attended
  • Migration Certificate from the School
  • In the case of Punjab residents, proof of residence or domicile is required
  • Medical Certificate in case of PwD Candidate.
  • Recently clicked passport-sized colour photographs

Q:   Where will the PGIMER Nursing open round of counselling be conducted?

The PGIMER Nursing open round of counselling will be conducted in the auditorium of the National Institute of Nursing Education (NINE), PGIMER, Chandigarh. Initially,  document verification will be done before allotting the seats. 

Q:   What documents are mandatory for participating in PGIMER nursing counselling?
A: 

Documents such as PGIMER nursing admit card, Birth Certificate, Class 10th and 12th marksheet, caste certificate, and disability proof, etc., are mandatory to be presented as proof of verification at the time of PGIMER nursing counselling.

PGIMER Nursing Counselling 2026: Guidelines

PGIMER BSc nursing counselling 2026 will be conducted as per the rules notified by the PGI Chandigarh. Have a look at the counselling-related important instructions below- 

  • The seats in PGIMER BSc Nursing are allotted strictly based on merit.  
  • All the qualified candidates will have to present themselves physically during counselling.  
  • The qualified applicants will have to visit the auditorium of the National Institute of Nursing Education (NINE), PGIMER, Chandigarh, for document verification. 
  • Original documents will be required along with one set of photocopy.  
  • For BSc Nursing (4 years), the process will be held in the auditorium for document verification.
  • Selected candidates will have to pay the fee etc. through the online mode (through debit/credit card only)  / Demand Draft / Bankers Cheque on the spot, failing which her / his selection will be treated as cancelled and seats will be offered to the next candidate in order of merit.
  • The Demand draft (DD) / banker cheque (purchased / issued from Bank and not from the personal cheque book) should be in favour of “Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh” as per amount (two separate DDs/ Banker’s cheque) mentioned below:-
    • B.Sc. Nursing 1st Draft/Banker’s Cheque - INR 850 on account of course fee
    • 2nd Draft/Banker’s Cheque - on account of course fee INR 5,000 on account of security

Candidates with the minimum percentile for the BSc nursing programme is 98.7938 for the General category, above 94.8229 for SC candidates, above 91.2454 for ST candidates, above 98.0394 for OBC category, and above 57.5782 for PwBD (UR) and 44.1780 (Reserved) category candidates. For Foreign Nationals, the cutoff percentile is 76.2083.

The counselling for PGIMER BSc Nursing and BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) programme is being conducted by the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. The round-1 counselling concluded in August 2025. It is mandatory to present a set of self-attested documents along with the originals for verification on the day of PGIMER nursing counselling.

Q:   Can I participate in the second round if I have participated in first round of PGIMER nursing counselling?
A: 

No, if you have participated in the PGIMER nursing Round 1 counselling, you will not be able to participate in round-2 counselling. Only those candidates will be able to carry forward the counselling process who did not wish to accept the seat offered in round-1.

The PGIMER nursing exam was held in four rounds, with three rounds being conducted online and the last round being held in offline mode at the institute campus. The last round is also known as the Open round of counselling. The last round is optional; if the seats remain vacant, then only the offline open round is carried out.

A: 

Candidates interested in applying for the PGIMER nursing programme belonging to the General category must have scored above 97.7319 marks in the exam to be eligible for applying to the institute.

PGIMER BSc Nursing Course Fee 2026

Candidates who get shortlisted in the PGIMER nursing counselling will have to deposit the course fee in the form of a demand draft/banker’s cheque only. It is mandatory to pay the fee through two bank drafts/banker’s cheques amounting to the fee amount mentioned below, in favour of the “Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh” on the date of counselling.
