The PGIMER BSc Nursing 2026 result is expected to be released in August 2026. It will be released on the official website of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, pgimer.edu.in. Aspirants would be required to visit the admission portal and use the login window to access the scorecard. Alternatively, a direct link to download the provisional PGIMER nursing merit list 2026 will be provided on this page.

The PGIMER BSc Nursing exam date has not been announced yet. The PGIMER BSc Nursing 2026 results will be prepared based on the performance of the candidates. The further admission process will be completely dependent upon the candidate’s score. Candidates who will qualify for the exam will be listed in the merit list. The PGIMER Chandigarh will release a single merit list based on the category and the overall merit of the candidates.

Tie-Breaking Criteria for PGIMER BSc Nursing Result 2026

A Tie situation arises if two or more candidates score an equal number of marks in the entrance exam. To award the fair ranking to deserving candidates, the Tie-Breaking method is used. The PGIMER has set a criterion for Tie-breaking:

  • A candidate who has appeared in more attempts to pass the qualifying exam (Class 12) or the PGIMER BSc Nursing entrance will be given a higher order of preference
  • If the tie is still not resolved, then the candidate with higher marks in the PGIMER entrance examination will be given the benefit
  • If the tie still persists, then the age of the candidate will be taken into consideration. A candidate who is older in age will be given preference

Q:   When will PGIMER release the final answer key?

The PGIMER nursing final answer key will not be released as there is NO provisional answer key. The conducting body does not have any provision to share the answer key through the official source. 

Q:   How many seats are there in PGIMER BSc nursing (Post-Basic) programme?
A: 

There are a total of 62 seats in the PGIMER BSc nursing (Hons.) programme. General category candidates have 22 seats, SC category candidates have 07 seats, ST category candidates have 04 seats, OBC category candidates have 14 seats, and PwBD category candidates have 03 seats in all. Candidates having Color blindness are eligible provided that their color blindness can be corrected with contact lens and spectacles worn by such candidates. So, the number of seats mentioned for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) will be adjusted against the category to which he / she belongs.

PGIMER BSc Nursing Rank Card 2026

The PGIMER BSc Nursing result 2026 will be published online only in the form of a merit list. However, those candidates whose names will not be included in the merit list will have to download their PGIMER nursing Rank Card from the official website, pgimer.edu.in. The Rank cards with scores will be issued to all candidates who will appear in the examination to be held in July. But all may not be awarded a rank and hence may not be eligible for counselling, for which a cut-off rank and/or a cut-off score will be decided by the PGIMER Chandigarh.

The PGI Chandigarh will issue the admit card for PGIMER BSc Nursing 2026 around 10 days before the exam. The admit card download link will be displayed at pgimer.edu.in.

The PGIMER BSc Nursing exam is of 100 marks. Obtaining around 97 to 99 marks is considered as good score in the exam. Even the PGIMER Nursing cutoff for General category candidates was around 98.7938 percentile in last two years.

The total score in the PGIMER BSc Nursing entrance exam is 100. There are 100 objective-types questions in the exam and each question carries 1 mark. The exam also carries negative marking of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer.
