The PGIMER BSc Nursing 2026 answer key will NOT be released by the exam conducting body. The PGIMER BSc nursing exam will tentatively be held in July 2026, in online mode. The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, does not release any official answer key like in other nursing entrances; a separate provisional and final answer key is provided to the aspirants. After receiving the response from the students and discussing it with the subject matter experts, an unofficial answer key will be released here in a PDF file. The authorities will prepare the results after the exam concludes. Candidates will be allowed to check the PGIMER BSc Nursing result in August 2026.

How to download PGIMER BSc Nursing Answer Key 2026

PGIMER Chandigarh does not release any official PGIMER Nursing Answer Key. Candidates will only be able to check the unofficial answer key released by the top coaching institutes. The unofficial PGIMER answer keys will be made available in PDF format. Aspirants can refer to the memory-based answer key to cross-check their performance in the exam, or can refer to the experts explaining or solving the PGIMER nursing question paper on the YouTube channels to cross-verify the answers chosen at the time of attempting the paper. Candidates will be able to verify their marked answers through these sources only to estimate their predicted score in the entrance exam.

The PGIMER BSc nursing 2025 exam had a moderate difficulty level as per the expert opinion. Time Management was tough as the physics and chemistry sections had tricky questions. In addition, there is a time-limit of 90 minutes for 100 questions. In physics, there were a few application-based numericals that were time-demanding for the aspirants.

A: 

Candidates with the minimum percentile for the BSc nursing programme is 98.7938 for the General category, above 94.8229 for SC candidates, above 91.2454 for ST candidates, above 98.0394 for OBC category, and above 57.5782 for PwBD (UR) and 44.1780 (Reserved) category candidates. For Foreign Nationals, the cutoff percentile is 76.2083.

Q:   Can I take admission to any other university or institution through PGIMER BSc Nursing?
A: 

No, one cannot take admission to any other university or institution by clearing the PGIMER BSc Nursing exam as no other institute or university accepts PGIMER BSc Nursing scores. Selected candidates will be invited for the counselling process after the exam. No individual intimation is sent to unselected candidates, and no correspondence on the subject is entertained.

PGIMER BSc Nursing score will be based on the total marks scored by the candidate across all the sections. There will be five sections in the PGIMER BSc Nursing question paper for the BSc (Hons) programme. These are the weightage: Physics (20 marks), Logical & Quantitative Reasoning (10 marks), Chemistry (20 marks), Biology (40 marks), English & Comprehension (10 marks).

PGIMER Nursing Counselling 2026

PGIMER BSc nursing counselling will be conducted at the institute campus along with the document verification. Candidates interested in seeking admission to the BSc nursing programme will have to apply for the counselling first, and then they will be called at the institute on the pre-decided time slot. Please note that no other institute accepts the scores of the PGIMER nursing entrance. Also, the exam will be conducted for admission to the campus located in Chandigarh only. There is no other campus where candidates will be able to secure admission to the UG-level, 4-year duration course.

PGIMER BSc Nursing counselling is expected to begin in August 2026 after the announcement of the results. All the information related to the counselling process is shared at the official website, pgimer.edu.in. Candidates who successfully score the minimum qualifying marks will be shortlisted for the counselling round. All processes, such as document verification and fee payment, will be done at the institute itself by the counselling committee. 

Q:   Who conducts counselling for the PGIMER BSc Nursing and BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) programme?

The counselling for PGIMER BSc Nursing and BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) programme is being conducted by the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. Candidates are required to be present for the counselling process and formalities at the pre-mentioned time and location. There will tentatively be four rounds of counselling. The round-1 counselling concluded in August 2025. It is mandatory to present a set of self-attested documents along with the originals for verification on the day of PGIMER nursing counselling.

The PGIMER BSc Nursing exam is of 100 marks. Obtaining around 97 to 99 marks is considered as good score in the exam. Even the PGIMER Nursing cutoff for General category candidates was around 98.7938 percentile in last two years.

Candidates can get the PGIMER Nursing syllabus PDF after the release of information bulletin. The PGI publishes the latest syllabus on the bulletin itself. However, candidates can visit PGIMER BSc Nursing syllabus page to get the syllabus of the exam.

The total score in the PGIMER BSc Nursing entrance exam is 100. There are 100 objective-types questions in the exam and each question carries 1 mark. The exam also carries negative marking of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer.
