CSBC History

The Central Selection Board of Constable (CSBC) was established in 2008 by the Governor of Bihar to manage the recruitment process for constables and other Group 'D' positions in the Bihar Police Department. Headquartered in Patna, the board is led by an officer of the rank of Additional Director General or Director General. The formation of CSBC was made official via an amendment in the Bihar Police Manual, which granted the board authority to conduct both written exams and physical fitness tests. Further, CSBC is responsible for preparing the merit list based on candidate performance and in accordance with reservation rules.
