The Phase 1 Exam of SEBI Grade A for Legal post was conducted on August 5, 2023. The overall difficulty level of the paper was easy to moderate. The legal paper of SEBI Grade A was easy. The Quant section was easy to moderate. The Reasoning section was moderate. The English section of SEBI Grade A exam was easy to moderate. SEBI Grade A Phase 1 Exam Analysis 2023: Section-Wise Difficulty Level

Candidates can check below SEBI Grade A Phase 1 exam analysis 2023 for different sections:

Legal Paper: Questions were asked from the Constitution of India, Articles 14, 18, 21 and 50, total number of ministries, consensus adidem, Right of foreclosure, Transfer of Property, etc.

GA: In GA, questions were asked from RBI penalty on Canara Bank, Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) scheme new auto, Mutual Funds, Chandrayaan-3, Nomadic Elephant, Govt Schemes, Nobel Prize 2019 in chemistry field, BRICs summit, Cash Reserve Ratio, Columbus Security Conclave (Not a Member Country), etc.

Quantitative Aptitude: The Quant section was easy to moderate and the questions were doable. From Number Series, around four to five questions were asked. These questions were wrong number series. Around two to three questions were asked from Quadratic Equation. Around two to three questions were asked from Approximation. Questions in the test were asked from Data Interpretation. There were around two sets of Data Interpretation question. The Arithmetic questions were direct. Arithmetic questions were asked from Profit & Loss, Time & Work, Boats & Stream, Percentage, Speed, Time & Distance.

Reasoning: In Reasoning, around 10 questions were asked from seating arrangement and puzzles. The puzzles were circular and floor based. There were also three to four questions from Syllogism. There were direction-based two to three questions. Around one question was asked from Blood Relation. There were no questions from Inequalities, Coding Decoding, Machine Input. Questions were asked from Advanced Numeric Series.

English Language: The English section was easy to moderate. The Reading comprehension was moderate. The Questions were asked from Double and Single Fillers, Spotting Error, Match the Column and Para Jumbles.

SEBI Grade A Phase 1 Exam Pattern 2023

SEBI Grade A Phase 1 exam pattern consisted of two papers. The marks allotted to each paper are 100. The duration of Paper 1 was 60 minutes whereas it was 40 minutes for Paper 2. The qualifying cut off for Paper 1 is 30 per cent whereas it is 40 per cent for paper 2. There is a negative marking of ¼ marks in Paper 1 and 2 of Phase 1 exam. Marks obtained in Phase 1 exam is used only for shortlisting the candidates for Phase 2 examination process and will not be counted for final selection of the candidates.

SEBI Grade A Salary

The pay scale of officers in Grade A is INR 44500-2500(4)-54500-2850(7)-74450-EB-2850(4)-85850- 3300(1)-89150 (17 years). Besides, candidates are also entitled to various allowances and benefits. The probation period of SEBI Grade A Officer is two years.
