Q:   How is the cut-off of IBPS RRB calculated?

A:

IBPS RRB cut off is the minimum qualifying marks which candidates need to secure inorder to qualify the exam. IBPS RRB cut off is applied on different sections and overall/total marks. IBPS RRB cut off for the prelims exam is calculated out of 80 marks. IBPS RRB Mains cut off is calculated out of 200 marks. The provisional allotment cut off is calculated out of 100 marks. Candidates securing equal to or more than the cut off marks are declared qualified in each stage of selection process. As the exam is conducted in different shifts, the cut off is calculated after normalising the marks of candidates. Normalisation of IBPS RRB cut off is done to maintain transparency in the examination process.

Q:   What is IBPS RRB normalisation?

A:
IBPS RRB normalisation is a process used to equate the scores of candidates appearing for the examination, particularly when multiple shifts or sessions are conducted. This normalization method aims to adjust the difficulty level variations among different shifts to ensure fairness in the evaluation process. Since the examination may be conducted in various shifts, there could be slight differences in the difficulty level of questions between these shifts. To address this, the normalization process is applied, which takes into account the average performance of candidates in each shift and aligns the scores accordingly. The normalisation process ensures that all candidates are evaluated based on their relative performance across shifts rather than the absolute performance in a particular shift. This helps in providing a fair and level playing field for all candidates, irrespective of the shift they appeared in.

Q:   What is the process for IBPS RRB provisional allotment?

A:

The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. Minimum qualifying marks in interview is not less than 40 per cent (35 per cent for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates). The relative weightage given to the Mains exam and Interview for the provisional allotment is 80:20 respectively for the Officers cadre. The combined final score of candidates is arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the Mains for the post of Officers Scale I and in the Single Level Examination for the post of Officers Scale II and III and Interview. Interview score of the candidates failing to secure minimum qualifying marks or otherwise barred from the interview or further process is not disclosed. Candidates should qualify both in the Mains exam and interview and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for subsequent provisional allotment process. The provisional allotment is done based on merit-cum-preference. For Officers in Scale I and Office Assistant (Multipurpose), the provisional allotment is restricted within the RRBs of the State opted for.

In the event of two or more candidates having obtained the same score, merit order is decided as per date of birth (the candidate senior in age is placed before/ above the candidate junior in age), as per the prevailing practice

Q:   When IBPS RRB cut off is released?

A:

IBPS RRB cut off is released along with the result separately for prelims exam, Mains exam and interview. The cut off is released state-wise, category-wise and section-wise. The cut off is calculated based on various factors such as the overall difficulty level of the exam, total marks, level of competition and number of test takers. Candidates securing equal to or more than the cut off marks are selected for the next round of recruitment process.

IBPS RRB Cut off

IBPS RRB PO cutoff is different from IBPS RRB Clerk cut off. The cut off is applied on the overall score and individual sections. IBPS RRB cutoff is released category-wise and state-wise. Candidates securing equal to or more than the cutoff marks are declared qualified in each stage of the exam. Going through IBPS RRB cutoff, candidates can plan their preparation strategy for the IBPS RRB. Knowledge of IBPS RRB cut off helps candidates in analysing and gauging the competition level of the exam. The increase or decrease in the IBPS RRB cut off is determined by various factors. This will aid candidates in strategising and formulating an effective strategy for the exam. Candidates can analyse IBPS RRB last year cut off and note the changes introduced in the subsequent years. Candidates need to work hard to get the desired result.

IBPS RRB Cut off 2024 FAQs

Candidates can check below IBPS RRB cut off 2024 FAQs.

Q:   What is IBPS RRB marking scheme?

A:

Scores obtained by candidates in IBPS RRB exam are calculated based on the marking scheme. The marking scheme is prescribed by the examination authority. IBPS RRB marking scheme is given below:

Preliminary Exam:
  • Each correct answer typically carries 1 mark
  • For every incorrect answer, there is a penalty of 0.25 marks (1/4th of the mark assigned to that question)
  • Unanswered questions do not attract any penalty

Main Exam

  • The marking scheme for the main exam is generally similar to the preliminary exam, where each correct answer is awarded 1 mark.
  • There is typically a penalty for wrong answers, which is around 0.25 marks (1/4th of the mark assigned to that question)
  • There are no negative marking for unanswered questions

Q:   What's the career growth for an IBPS RRB PO?

A:

The career growth for an IBPS RRB PO (Probationary Officer) typically involves promotions to higher positions within the bank. The next level after PO is usually Assistant Manager, followed by Branch Manager, Assistant General Manager, Deputy General Manager, General Manager, and finally, Chief General Manager. The promotions are based on performance, experience, and other criteria set by the bank. With each promotion, the salary, benefits, and responsibilities also increase.

Q:   Is IBPS RRB exam tough?

A:
The difficulty level of the IBPS RRB exam can vary from one year to another and also between different shifts or sessions of the same exam. The difficulty level depends on individual strengths, preparation, and familiarity with the topics covered in the syllabus. Some candidates may find the exam relatively easy if they have thoroughly prepared and practiced well in all subjects. On the other hand, for candidates who did not adequately prepared or face challenges in certain topics, the exam might seem tough.
IBPS RRB exams are designed to assess the candidates' aptitude and knowledge in various areas relevant to banking and rural banking operations. It is essential to have a strong grasp of the syllabus and to practice with previous years' question papers and mock tests to gain confidence and improve performance. The difficulty level vary based on the preparation and understanding of the subjects. It is important to prepare well for the exam.
