IBPS PO Notification 2026: The authority will release the IBPS PO Notification 2026 on the official website at ibps.in. It is expected to be released in June 2026 in the form of PDF. The vacancies and other important dates will also be announced via notification. In 2026, the IBPS PO exam will be the 16th edition. Every year the IBPS CRP PO/MT CRP-XVI is conducted for the selection of candidates for 11 public sector banks. The IBPS PO 2026 appplication form will be released online at ibps.in. It is expected that the online link will be activated in June 2026. Candidates required to fill out the IBPS PO registration form by visiting the official website. Q:   What is the application fee for IBPS PO 2026?

The official notification has not been released for 2026. But as per the official notification released for 2025, the IBPS PO application fee was INR 850 for General/OBC candidates and INR 175 for SC/ST/ PwBD candidates inclusive of GST. 

  • INR 175/- (inclusive of GST) for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
  • INR 850 /- (inclusive of GST) for all others.

It is to be noted that Bank Transaction charges for Online Payment of application fees/ intimation charges will have to be borne by the candidate.

Q:   How many times can a candidate attempt the IBPS PO exam?
A: 

There is no limit in the number of attempts in the IBPS PO exam. But important is to confirm the standards given in the notification. Candidate can give the exam as many times but the age limit is from 20 to 30 years. That is in between he or she can appear in the exam as many times they want.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern 2026

The official notification for the year 2026 will be released in June (expected). Earlier, the exam pattern was revised in 2025. It is divided into preliminary , mains exam, and interview. Scroll down for detail:
  • Prelims exam: The test consists of three parts, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability. There are a total of 100 questions. The total marks for the test are 100. The duration of the exam is 60 minutes.
  • Mains exam: The mains exam has both objective and descriptive tests. The objective test have questions from Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language, and Data Analysis & Interpretation. The Descriptive Test comprises English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). There are a total of 147 questions (Objective 145 + 2 Descriptive). The total marks allotted for the test are 225. The duration of the exam is 160 minutes.
  • Interview: The interview is conducted for 100 marks. The test is conducted to know the personality of candidates.

What is IBPS PO Marking Scheme?

The marking scheme is mentioned here. One mark is awarded for correct answers. For wrong answers, 0.25 marks are deducted. The total marks are calculated based on the correct and incorrect answers.

Q:   What is the exam pattern for IBPS PO 2026 Mains exam?

Candidates can check below the IBPS PO 2026 Mains the latest exam pattern:

  • In the Mains exam, 4 sections will be there namely Reasoning Ability, English Language and Data Analysis & Interpretation and General Awareness.
  • The total time for IBPS PO 2026 Mains Objective Exam is 160 minutes and 30 minutes additional for descriptive test. Therefore, the total duration of the Mains exam is 190 minutes or 3 hours and 10 minutes. 
  • A penalty of 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer in the objective test.
  • In the Mains exam now, 145 objective questions will be asked for 200 marks and an additional Descriptive Paper worth 25 marks will be asked, making the total 225 marks.
  • Each section is separately timed which is demanding better time management from the candidates.

A: 

The IBPS PO Prelims exam pattern was revised in 2025. The overall marks and the negative marking remain the same, but internally changes have been made in the prelims exam pattern. The marking scheme has been changed. Also, the marks for the Quantitative Aptitude have been reduced to 30 from 35, and on the other hand, the marks for the Reasoning section have been increased by 5, that is, from 35 to 40. However, the number of questions remains the same.

The IBPS PO exam syllabus for preliminary and mains exam is different. The prelim exam tests a candidate's knowledge in English Language, Maths and Reasoning Ability. The main exam tests aspirants' knowledge in GK, English, Maths, Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, and Financial Awareness. The level of difficulty of both the exams is also not same.

IBPS PO educational qualification is a Degree/Graduation in any discipline from a university recognised by the government. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government.
