I’m really satisfied and overall it is good.
Placements: Since it is a general line, there is no direct placement offered right after the Bachelor's degree. However, if one gives entrance exams for other jobs or roles, they can be placed accordingly. But the degree provides a lot of opportunities to work in the laboratory as a paid intern. Almost 90% students got internships from this course in various reputed institutes and industries.
Infrastructure: Our college classrooms are well-equipped with projectors, blackboards, fans, lights, and air conditioning. The library has access to almost all kinds of books that the students need. The facilities in the hostel are moderate enough for a student to live properly. Proper food, rooms, and bathrooms are also in good condition. Hygiene is well maintained here. The food available in the mess and canteen is quite good, and lots of options are available. Medical facilities are also available here when needed. Here sports and games are given enough importance besides academics. Tournaments and competitions are held to encourage students in sports.
Faculty: Teachers are highly knowledgeable and qualified. They are always ready to help and address our doubts. The teaching quality is satisfactory, as we understand quite a lot through lectures. The course is curriculum relevant for further research. If one does an internship or works in a lab hands-on, then it can make the student industry-ready. The semester exams are quite standard level, and one needs to attend the lectures in order to do well in the exams. Conceptual knowledge is highly appreciated in exams. The pass percentage is 90%. The syllabus includes portions from Microbiology, Zoology, Botany, Physiology, and Cell Biology.
Other: This particular course offers a wide range of knowledge and opportunities across various areas. It also has Development Biology, Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Biostatistics, and Bioinformatics. Events and festivals are conducted well enough, and the campus has a good scenario and is environmentally friendly. Extracurricular activities are given special importance, and participation is highly encouraged.

Faculty and lab facilities are very good. Placement is not so good (average).
Placements: The life sciences course is the proper way to crack the NET exam. The lowest package is 25k. The average is like 50k. Students can go further in forensic sciences. Some pharmaceutical or biotech companies give placements. 50% got a scholarship from the government. People who apply for an internship.
Infrastructure: The life sciences department has huge lab facilities. Students can do hands-on practicals. The hostel has bus facilities. Food quality and the room are okay. Classes have a blackboard and projectors. The life sciences department has its own sample collection.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. Semester exams are very standard. 2 semester exams in one year. 2 mid-semester or IAS per semester exam. The pass percentage is 40%. If someone attends the classes properly, then the semester exam is not hard for them. 75% attendance is mandatory.

Very satisfied with the course.
Placements: Since this is a general line, there is no possibility of direct placement from the college itself. So it is required to either study further or take competitive exams after graduation. That's the only way to get a job. But definitely the course is worth doing from this reputable institute, as that will be highlighted in the CV, and also it's easier to find the best quality internship after passing out from a college like Presidency, which is no less than a reward in itself.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is pretty good, according to me. Labs are well-equipped, and experiments are performed using the right apparatus. Classrooms have the facilities of light, a fan, and air conditioning. There is a central library, and perhaps any book needed can be found there. Hostel facilities are decent with proper electricity and water. Food available in the mess and canteen can be relied upon, and hygiene is maintained. Medical facilities are also available when needed. Much importance is given to the co-curricular, and various kinds of programs and sports are held continuously to encourage students to participate.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified and have done their higher studies from various reputed institutes in India and foreign countries. Their quality of teaching is undoubtedly the best so far. The course is very relevant, and it makes us ready to face the competitive exams and gives an in-depth knowledge of the subject. The semester exams are standard enough, and students can pass if they attend classes regularly and follow the professor. The pass percentage is very high since the professors are very helpful and ready to take our doubts anytime.
Other: The subject that fascinates me and urges me to learn more is Biology. The best thing about this life sciences course is that we acquire knowledge of every part of the Biology subject, including Zoology, botany, microbiology, molecular Biology, and so on. There is no division of courses within Biology, which makes us learn every aspect of this subject. Events and fests are held from time to time, which help us to indulge in recreation and refresh our minds.

The faculty members try hard to give us proper and better education to secure our future.
Placements: In my class (UG 2), there are 72-78 students, where 125 seats were allotted. Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Zoology play a significant role during recruitment. Instead of placement, our college is more focused on higher education, research, and study.
Infrastructure: Our department provides good infrastructure such as big classrooms with gallery system seating arrangements, AC in summer, a projector, and big screens. Feels like a movie theatre. I don't stay in a hostel, but I share now reviews like they provide a beautiful meal in a week, they arrange a transport system from the hostel to the campuses.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and friendly too, whenever we go to them, they treat us as their children and solve our problems sincerely. The exam questions are divided into theoretical, applied, and analytical. They assess us in many ways for smooth learning in the future.
Other: I chose Life Sciences as I have great interest in this since my 12th Standard, specifically Molecular Biology and some parts of physiology. I want the authorities to provide more equipment for the practical lab for students of all years.

One of the most prestigious colleges in Kolkata, Presidency University, College Street.
Placements: Presidency University has a placement program with a variety of career options, including analytics, consulting, core (technical), finance, IT, business development, and sales and marketing. In 2023, the median package for a 3-year undergraduate degree was INR 6 LPA, and the median package for a 2-year postgraduate degree was INR 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: Presidency University, Kolkata has really good infrastructure. They provide hostel facilities for both boys and girls. They have free Wi-Fi facilities. The classrooms are really big, and they have 2 libraries, one in the main building and another in the central library.
Faculty: The teachers here are really helpful and qualified, with doctorates. The course curriculum is absolutely relevant. The semester exams may seem a bit difficult since you just got into new surroundings like college, but everything will help you to better yourself. The end-semester exams are taken out of 70 marks, and according to me, they are moderate.

Best days at Presidency University that has only ever helped me grow.
Placements: There is no placement after the B.Sc. Course. 70 percent students can bag an internship either from IAS or in other institutes. For the 4 year UG course internship is now mandatory and time is separately mapped out for the students to do internships without hampering course work. Workshops and seminar talks are held. Provides excellent guidance for cracking competitive exams required for M.Sc. Admissions such as GATE and JAM BT.
Infrastructure: Labs are well maintained and there's a good variety. Library has all the books required for the study. Wi-Fi facility is given for free to all students. Both boys and girl hostel are well furnished and they provide a bus for the girl hosteleers as well. Boys hostel is right Next to campus. 2 canteens with good food and affordable price. Sports of all sorts are very much encouraged.
Faculty: All the teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable. Excellent guidance from all faculty. Course curriculum is based for further research opportunities and getting into good institute later on. Semester exams are difficult but manageable. Best for student's intellectual growth.
Other: There's one grand fest called MILIEU Extra-curricular occurs regularly. Student's are free to participate. Several clubs are also there. Vivekananda scholarship available alongside the INSPIRE Scholarship.

Presidency has a historical legacy and is excellent now.
Placements: I am currently studying an undergraduate course in science (biology). The current scenario is that graduates from any discipline of science are not very employable. They get jobs after completing a minimum of a master's degree. Our college offers a master's programme. If you study a master's under the bachelor's programme, then there are fairly good chances to get admission to a master's programme because a fair number of admissions are reserved for the home quota in our college. A master's degree from Presidency is more valuable than a similar degree from most of the other colleges.
Infrastructure: Research facilities and infrastructure available in Presidency are among the best in Kolkata. The collection of books in the library is quite good. There is also a huge collection of old and rarely available books from the pre-independence era. Since our college has a heritage building and was constructed in the 1800s, there are some constraints on the facilities provided for us. Older buildings do not have spacious classrooms, but the classrooms in the newer buildings are quite spacious. Most of the classrooms have air-conditioners and all have good lighting and ventilation. Hostel facilities are not the best for students in terms of luxury or convenience. However, they are very affordable with a monthly cost of around Rs. 1,000, including food. The boys' hostel is adjacent to the campus, but the girls' hostel is far away. Free bus service to and from the girls' hostel is operated by the administration.
Faculty: Teaching faculty members and even non-teaching staff members are very helpful here. Presidency is one of the most reputed colleges in Kolkata and in the state of West Bengal and hence has excellent faculty members. This is the same case in most of the departments. The course curriculum of our subject is quite different from what is usually offered in other colleges. Instead of learning about a particular branch of biology (like zoology or botany), we take a holistic approach and study all the fields of the real world. This helps in developing a more fundamental understanding and finding out patterns that are common throughout the biosphere. We are also taught some basics about chemistry and physics, which is really important for biology but is neglected at most contemporary colleges. Our course is based on the biological sciences course of JNU, which was the first university to adopt a holistic biology programme instead of the specific sub-disciplines. But JNU does not offer an undergraduate programme. Very few colleges offer a B.Sc in biological sciences. Presidency is the only university in West Bengal that does so. If you are planning to study biology as an undergraduate, I suggest you choose biological sciences over any specialised sub-disciplines such as botany or physiology and opt for a specialisation afterward.

College days were the golden days of my life.
Placements: There is no such company recruitment in our course. But definitely, there are placement opportunities in future for PhD graduates or being a lecturer at some college. Moreover, internship opportunities were at a huge level, and our teachers helped a lot.
Infrastructure: Our college is now well-equipped with all the internet facilities such as Wi-Fi. The library is awesome and the best I have ever seen in any college. Moreover, the accessibility of the books was also well managed. Classrooms are definitely of old days carrying the great lineage with them a tradition being bestowed upon it.
Faculty: Faculty members in Presidency are the best. They are not only our teachers but our philosopher and friend. They not only dealt with our subjects but always used to welcome us gladly to sort our personal problems. They were best at their knowledge and also in delivering them. We never had to leave classes with any doubt in our mind.
