Students have to meet the Anna University course eligibility to get admission. The selection criteria is different for each programme. The common eligibility is as below:
- Anna University UG eligibility - Class 12 with relevant subjects
- Anna University PG eligibility - UG degree in a relevant stream
- Anna University PhD eligibility - PG degree in a relevant field
To get admission in Anna University, students have to check the eligibility first. Eligible students can then apply online. The university offers both merit and entrance-based admissions. Students have to submit entrance test scores and participate in counselling. Selected students have to pay the admission fees.
For Anna University undergraduate courses, the minimum eligibility requirement is to pass Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 45% (40% for SC/ ST candidates). However, Class 12 marks is not enough to apply for Anna University UG courses such as BE/ BTech. For Anna University BTech admission, candidates are also required to appear for TNEA counselling process. Basis of which Anna University will allocate the seats for BTech admission. For TNEA counselling, the University will consider the Class 12 marks. For Anna University PG admission, the minimum eligibility requirement is to have a graduation degree from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 50%.
