Admission to various courses is based on merit and entrance exam scores. The accepted entrance exams are GATE, CEETA, NEET, and others. Candidates must prepare well for the entrance exams. The online/distance degrees offered by the Centre for Distance and Online Education at Annamalai University are valid. Previously, the University Grants Commission (UGC) did not approve its courses starting from 2015. However, Annamalai University DDE  received relief from the Madras High Court in an order dated 21.01.2023. Subsequently, following a reassessment by the UGC, Annamalai DDE achieved a qualifying score of 3.38, which led to extending the validity of its programmes until 2027.

Offering courses at the UG, PG, PhD, and Diploma levels, Annamalai University offers courses at the total tuition fee ranging from INR 2.8 K to INR 29.4 Lakh. Annamalai University offers more than 500 courses through distance education, Annamalai University admissions are both merit-based and entrance-based.  Students can check with the admission office if the university allows payment through both online and offline modes. 

Candidates must upload scanned copies of the documents below while filling out the application form. Also, self-attested Xerox copies of these documents have to be attached and sent to the University address along with the downloaded copy of the application form:

8. Certificate of extra-curricular activities (if applicable)
