All About BITS Pilani MTech Admissions: Eligibility, Specialisations, Fees & Entrance Exams
BITS Pilani is one of the best institutes in India when it comes to courses in Technology and Engineering. BIT Pilani MTech course is the ideal gateway for engineering graduates and professionals to enhance their technical skills. There are 2 types of Masters degree depending on whether you want to study full-time or continue to work in your job. Here are both of them explained in detail:
1. On Campus Master's Program (ME) Admission
It is the perfect course for engineering students if you wish to pursue the Master Degree program in full-time regular mode. Name of the course is Master of Engineering (ME). It is available in 3 campuses of BITS – Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad.

- Computer Science & IT: CS, Software Systems.
- Electronics & Electrical: Microelectronics, Embedded Systems, Communication Engineering.
- Core Engineering: Mechanical, Design, Chemical, Civil (Structural or Transportation).

Eligibility Criteria to Apply (BITS ME):
- Degree: BE or BTech degree in a relevant field.
- Percentage: 60% marks in graduation.
Admission Process for BITS Pilani ME Program:
There are 2 ways for BITS Pilani MTech admissions. The institute admits students in on-campus program using a 50:50 method:
- Method 1 (GATE / GPAT): 50% of the seats are allotted on the basis of GATE scores. If the score is good enough, students can get direct admission.
- Method 2 (BITS HD Exam): The other 50% of the seats are filled using University level online entrance test called BITS HD (Higher Degree) Test.
BITS Pilani ME Fees
- Fees: Ranges from INR 12 lakh - 23 lakh. Hostel and mess charges are extra.
- Stipend: The best part is that most of full-time students get a monthly stipend of INR 13,400 for helping professors as a Teaching Assistant (TA).
2. WILP M.Tech Programs (For Working Professionals)
WILP stands for Work Integrated Learning Programmes. This BITS Pilani WILP MTech course is designed for those who have a job and want to do an MTech without leaving their company. Let’s go through it in details:

- No Entrance Exam: No need to take GATE or the BITS HD test.
- Profile Selection: Selection is based on past academic performance and current job profile.
- Classes: All classes are held online, mostly over weekends, so it does not disturb your office schedule.
