On Comparisons
Q:   Which college is easier to get admission into for BSc course among Azim Premji University and Christ University Bangalore?
A:

It is tough to compare which university is easier to get admission into for BSc courses among Azim Premji University and Christ University. Both of the universities are privately owned and have similar reputations in Bangalore. However, if we compare the admission process, APU Bangalore accepts the scores of the CUET, JEE Mains, and SAT entrance examinations for admission to BSc courses, and Christ University offers admission on the basis of the Christ University Entrance Test (CUET), Micro Presentation (MP), and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

Candidates can choose any of the institutions according to their preferences. The only difference between the admission process of these universities is that APU Bangalore offers admissions through the score of the national-level entrance examination. On the other hand, Christ University BSc admissions are based on candidates' scores in the university entrance examination.

Conclusively, candidates can choose any of the universities because, for some of the BSc specialisation Azim Premji University also conducts its in-house entrance examination.

A good academic and campus life, but bad placements.
Placements: 5-10% students from my course were placed. The lowest package is around 3 LPA, and the highest package is around 6 LPA. Top recruiters are Azim Premji Foundation and Tata Trust. 80% of the students interested in internships got internships in their respective occupational track in NGOs and social sector organisations. Top roles offered in my course were teacher, researcher and programme assistants.
Infrastructure: Azim Premji University have Wi-Fi-enabled and projector-equipped classrooms, and there is a huge library. The Maths department has a Maths studio and a Maths space. The campus is spread across 90 acres. The hostel is well maintained with furnished rooms, a kitchen on every floor, hygienic washrooms, recreational common areas and laundry service. There is a 24/7 power and water facility. The mess food is hygienic, but the taste is average. There is a 24/7 medical facility with nurses, medicine and an emergency ambulance. Students have access to a sports ground, gym and indoor games.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good and the teacher-student ratio is also good, but the course curriculum is not that relevant, as the course doesn't focus on placements. Hence, it doesn't make the students industry-ready.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in Maths. The course should be internship-oriented. Azim Premji University has a lot of academic events, festival celebrations and a college fest once every year. The campus surroundings are not good as the campus is on the outskirts of the city. The students from a poor background get a scholarship as high as 100%. We have essential extracurricular activities related to courses, so a lot of extracurricular activities take place in Azim Premji University.

Infrastructure is amazing, and I will have a great campus life.
Placements: Placement percentage is not much, approximately 30 to 40% students are placed in the UG programme. About 10 to 12 LPA is the highest package, and 4 to 6 LPA is the average package in the social sector and ngo of Azim Premji Foundation and Wipro, but most of the students got internships in NGOs, such as in arts and culture programmes, and many more.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is amazing and has Asias tallest hostel building and a Eco friendly campus with all types of labs, Gulnanoo Premji library, and offers every sport and gives you freedom to explore in various fields, and the entire campus has free Wi-Fi access.
Faculty: Faculty is very helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive. They teach very clearly, and you should prefer the program here. If you want to continue your further higher studies in that subject, and semester exams are not so easy, but not so hard.

The campus is good but not best.
Placements: Only 5-10% of students get campus placements, and the package that company offers is very low. The highest package is around 6 LPA, and the lowest package is around 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Azim Premji Foundation and Tata Trust. No one gets any internship in any company but campus provides an assistantship in which they pay Rs. 6,000. Top role in our course is a researcher.
Infrastructure: Everything is best. Hostel rooms are good, not best. The food is not good at all. They also have 24X7 medical team. Sports, lab, and games are best in class.
Faculty: Teaching quality is very bad, we have to learn by ourselves. Course curriculum is not relevant at all and we learn nothing just what we have learned in 11-12th standard. Exams are too difficult because what they teach and what they ask are totally different.
Other: That is my biggest mistake, and nothing is the best. Everything should be improved. The fest is like a school function. Campus also provides 100% scholarships to those students whose family income is less than 3 lakhs.

B.Sc. in Physics - Batch of 2025

I am satisfied with the resources provided by the university.
Placements: In our batch for B.Sc. Physics, there were around 20-25 students, but each passing year the number of students applying to this university is increasing. The batch that came after us, specifically in Physics, is now around 50 or so. About placements, I would say most of the students get into the placements they are happy with. The placement cell we have here is quite effective. I don't have much idea, but from the batch after us, they have much better options for internships and many more. We have a course called interdisciplinary study, which allows the student to have an occupational track.
Infrastructure: We have free Wi-Fi in the hostel, and all over the classes, we have specific labs for each subject like Physics, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, and also sophisticated equipment. We also have a library that provides access to physical books on all subjects, from Science to Social Science and many more. We also have newspapers, magazines, and a very well-managed way of issuing books. We have two messes with also a snack shop that is open till 10 at night. We have very good medical facilities. We have a specific medical room on one floor in our hostel, with one more in one of the buildings. The cleanliness is something that no one can question. We have a big sports field with facilities for badminton, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, cricket, kabbadi, chess, and carrom, along with a gym.
Faculty: The teachers in this university are really helpful, knowledgeable, and well-qualified. The quality of teaching is really good, with the course being structured in such a way that makes the class really engaging. And exams are something you don't have to worry about since we have small exams spread out over the whole semester, which have some weightage that at the end gets added up. We don't have a heavy load.
Other: Physics is what I chose because I love Physics, and what is more interesting is that after coming here to study, my love for this subject increased many times because it lets me feel it also. One more interesting thing is that this college also provides scholarships for students who cannot afford education. You can say that no student who deserves to study will have to leave the university because of money or fees. This will also be taken care of by the university. One thing is that this university has never done any advertisement for itself. I have a full scholarship, so I don't pay for anything over there.

APU is just different and totally amazing to experience.
Placements: Placements after B.Sc. mathematics program are average, but it is mostly due to the fact that students who want to get a job after graduation take up B.Sc.+B.Ed dual degree program rather than just B.Sc. The subject is taught differently in Azim Premji University, much like how it is done in foreign countries, so that is very beneficial when one goes to pursue Master's.
Infrastructure: The campus is amazing, and the hostel is even better. We have a recreational area which is gender-neutral, and so it removes the barrier between genders, helping one understand and appreciate all the genders. It also has games like table tennis, carrom etc. Wi-Fi is available in the classrooms as well as in the hostel rooms. The labs are also great, and this is due to the fact that the campus is new and so they got the best equipment possible. The library is very big with lots of books of various disciplines, but the best thing about the library is the vibe, as it just makes you feel calm. The food in the canteen is decent. The quality is good, but the taste is repetitive. You just get bored after a point, but the good thing is a bigger cafeteria is under construction, which will have far better food and third-party outlets as well. Medical facilities are good and available on campus all day and in the hostel at night. The college also has a high-tech ambulance service with an in-built ICU facility. Sports are good. It's getting better as of now. Football, cricket, table tennis, basketball and ultimate frisbee are some prominent sports. There is a gym, music room, some classes in kick-boxing also take place etc. I don't get involved in all this, so I know less about it.
Faculty: This is the best thing about APU. The faculty members are just like your friends, and they have very high knowledge of their subjects but also a great way to convey that knowledge to you. Some faculty face difficulties in teaching, but they are given feedback from students as anonymous and then they try to improve on that aspect. The course teaches you everything you would need for higher education, but more importantly, it teaches you how to learn, which is not taught in school. The biggest thing I have learned from this course is how to look at mathematical problems to find proof by yourself and how to be wrong at times but learn and get better not just alone but with the whole class as the course is very interactive. We learn together rather than learning alone. The course load is light in the first year but gets comparatively heavy in the second. The only problem is that one needs to devote time every single day to the subject as it is assessment-based and not exam based. There are tests, but they contribute not more than 30-50% of the grades. The grading is done on the basis of your assignments, the times you went wrong and came up with something to fix it etc. There's a lot to it. The tests won't bother you. The only thing you need is dedication towards learning something new every single day, and you'll easily pass with an A grade.
Other: The college offers scholarships depending on one's financial status, and it can also be 100%. Around 40-60% of students receive scholarships. Extracurricular activities are given good importance. The campus is on the outskirts of Bangalore, so the main problem is transportation to the main city, and it takes a lot of time.

Decent placements, great faculty, good campus life.
Placements: The placement information has not yet been updated and is not publicly available. Since I am not in the graduation batch of this year, I don't have much information. I heard from a few of my seniors that they got into some companies, and most of them are NGOs. So far, I heard people got an 8 Lacs package as well, and more information is yet to be shared.
Infrastructure: I am doing a B.Sc. Physics. For my course, there are Physics labs which are accessible all the time (you need permission). You are provided with materials and support from lab technicians and seniors as well if you are working on a project. There will be labs happening, which give us practical knowledge. You have great infrastructure (look for image on Google). Food is decent, but eventually you will get bored. Sports and health facilities are fine.
Faculty: Professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The best part of APU is its faculty. You find great and fun teachers. You will also find strict teachers. While a bit of effort can help you pass the semester, you need to work hard to get good grades. I don't find much interest in this course, so I fail to take it seriously. I cannot tell whether it is making students industry-ready. Few additional courses feel like a waste of time, like PRE. Overall, it is good.
Other: This campus has a lot of extracurricular activities and events. Most events are student-led. You get a lot of freedom in here. Though the food issue is there, you find this campus overall a better place. They provide financial aid to the people in need, as they firmly believe in their mission and vision, "Equity". I feel the placement packages are not so attractive. They call NGOs for placements. You would want good packages, too, right?
