Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, the conducting body of TANCET Counselling conducts the process online. The TANCET counseling process involves several steps with a physical document verification round. Step-wise process for TANCET counseling is as follows:

Q: What is the schedule for TANCET Counselling?

TANCET counselling is conducted around a month after the scorecard download window is closed. TANCET counselling is held in multiple rounds, including publication of rank list, general counselling for MBA and MCA, supplementary counselling for bith MBA and MCA.

Every year Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai invites application from eligible Degree holders for admission to MBA/ MCA courses offered in Government, Government Aided Engineering and Arts and Science Colleges, University Departments of Anna University/ Regional Centres, Annamalai University.

Q: What is the section wise weightage in TANCET exam?

TANCET exam for MBA admission have five sections. Each section of the TANCET exam have an equal weightage. Anna University provides 20 per cent weightage to all five sections of the exam. Eacg section has 20 questions, collectively taking the question count to 100. The sections in the TANCET MBA exam include:

Since all the sections of the TANCET exam have equal weightage, candidates provide equal importance to all five sections. Any of the section may lead to act as an advantage in pulling the overall score of the candidate.

Q: I forgot to fill the TANCET application form. Can I register by paying a late fee?

Typically, the TANCET application process has a fixed deadline for submission of the forms. It's crucial to note that missing the deadline toi submit the TANCET application forms can result in disqualification from the entrance exam. Anna University does not facilitate any window to complete the registration and submit the form with a late fee. However, Anna University may provide such registration window in the future exam sessions. This is a good and strict college.

Placements: In this college, the placements are very good. Mostly 90% of students get placed, and very good companies also come for placements. For this college, almost all students must go for internships. The highest package is 17 LPA, and the minimum package is 3 LPA. Overall, the placement is good.

Infrastructure: In this college, labs are very good, and all are working properly. Wi-Fi is also good. The hostel is very good and provides free medical expenses for students by showing their ID cards. The hostel food menu is good, and the taste is also very good.

Everything is fine and manageable in my department, and the staff is very good.

Placements: The placement percentage is 20–27% for UG and 30–36% for PG students. The salary packages range from 1.20 LPA to 3.20 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Wipro, Bajaj, and Zomato. Around 15–20% of the students attend internships. The top roles offered are Tour Guide, Travel Consultant, Tour Manager, and Front Desk Officer.

Infrastructure: There are various facilities in our college. Everything is not top-class, but it is manageable.

Faculty: Staff members are very few, so the syllabus is covered in a hectic manner. The examinations are conducted by Bharathiyar University, so the exams are fair. The teaching is also good, but as I said, staff members are fewer, so their ability to teach is limited. Students face some difficulties adapting to the staff when they are new.

Placements mainly take place in the last semester, where students have to represent themselves in the best possible way to secure a job according to their profile. Companies like ICICI Bank, HDFC Life, Genpact, Nagar, and Mahima Group visit the campus for placements. The average package is 3.5 LPA. The highest package is 18 LPA. Placements also depend on student's experience and performance. The placement process follows a defined procedure. It includes an online test, group discussions, and walk-in interviews.

Infrastructure: Separate, fully equipped hostels for boys and girls are available. The hostels have semi-furnished rooms with adequate lighting. The mess food is hygienic and good enough. There are separate charges for the mess.

They work on students' personalities, communication skills, and other qualities required for interviews. They provide proper notes. Those are very helpful from an examination point of view. They are always available to clear doubts and share their experiences, which is beneficial for students. The examination structure is systematic, with two semester exams of 70 marks and two mid-semester exams of 20 marks every year. Marks are also awarded for assignments and attendance. Course curriculum is descriptive and informative. First two semesters cover all the core subjects. The next two semesters focus on specialized subjects according to students' preferences. The curriculum is smooth, and most of the learning is practical. We learn a lot from the curriculum, especially the practical application of theoretical concepts. Faculty members are knowledgeable.

Placements: The placement has always been good. There was a separate placement cell in our college for students who wish to work after graduation. Some of the really great brands have been heard to come in each year. The college made sure to provide great exposure. The opportunities varied from course to course. For instance, for literature, you didn't get too many companies coming in for placements. You had a great scope in publishing houses, as editors, proofreaders, academic content writers, or SEO writers. An internship was also provided by the college, but it was unpaid, just for knowledge and experience.

Infrastructure: The hostel facility provided here is good. It was located on the same campus. The mess here provided the tastiest food, except sometimes. The hostel was so clean and well-maintained with proper washrooms and bathroom facilities. Sharing rooms available, and the charges were affordable.

Faculty: Our college faculty was really cooperative and accessible. All our professors were easy to approach in case of any doubts or queries. They had great experience and also shared their knowledge. All faculty members had great knowledge and had Ph.D. in their respective subjects. The course curriculum had different types of books written by different authors.The exam structure was a semester system. In between each semester, you were supposed to attend two internal exams. Marks were divided as 75 marks for the written exam, and 10 marks for the internal assessment. We also had 10 marks for the project or assignments. Students can get 5 marks for attendance. In the course, we studied Indian literature. We got to know more about our Indian tradition. The course was purely based on humanitarian values and literature of different regions in English. You could gain immense knowledge of literature if you study deeply.
