BIT MESRA offers courses such as BTech and MBA as popular course in full-time mode. It is not very difficult to seek admission at BIT MESRA, if the candidates successfully achieve the eligibility criteria. The Institute accepts scores of national-level exams like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, CAT, NEET-UG, etc. The admission procedure is a multi-level process, which includes application form filling, selection rounds, offline admission process, and document verification. Depending upon the applied course, candidates are required to appear for the respective entrance exam, Writing Ability Test, and personal interview round. Selected candidates have to pay the prescribed admission fee to confirm their admission and submit the documents for verification.
For admission to BIT Mesra MCA course, eligibility criteria fulfilment is necessary. Thus, candidates should have passed BCA/BSc in Computer Science, Computer Application and IT with a minimum aggregate of 55% (50% for SC/ST/PwD) to be eligible. In addition, an aspirant should have passed the qualifying examination from a recognised university. - The PwD category students also have to fill the PwD form and Scribe affidavit along with the exam application form. This is necessary for getting scribe facility and PwD facility at the test centre. The CAT application form is same for students from all categories. Those belonging to a particular category (SC/ST/PwD) will be required to mention it in the relevant field of the CAT form.
The technology institute admits candidates to BTech courses based on merit in the JEE Main exam. There is no other provision for admission. Candidates shortlisted based on exam scores must also participate in the JoSAA counselling round for seat allotment. In case the seats are left vacant after JoSAA counselling, then those are filled through CSAB counselling. This is the only criteria for admission. For admission to a BTech course in BIT Mesra, candidate must be a Class 12 pass from a recognised board. Additionally, aspirant should have studied English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics subjects. Aspirant should have passed the qualifying exam with at least 60% aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PwD) in an average of four subjects – English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics. Aspirant must further hold the relevant documents for verification purposes.
Candidates have to apply for these entrance examinations and at the institute separately. The institute does not conduct any in-house examinations for these courses. Candidates shortlisted based on merit in the accepted exam can be called for a round of counselling. During this process, the seats are allotted to the candidates. The eligibility criteria is the minimum qualification that the course aspirant must have to be eligible for the course. Thus, aspirants with a valid BSc or equivalent degree in relevant field with a minimum of 55% aggregate (50% for SC/ST) are eligible. The qualifying exam should have been passed from a recognised university. Moreover, the mark sheets and pass certificate shall be kept handy as it is required during form filling and at the time of admission.
Candidates who are Class 12 pass with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology with minimum 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST/PwD).
