Good if it's the CSE branch, else completely avoid this place.
Placements: The placements are average if you're considering core branches like ECE or EEE. CSE is better when it's about placements. Also, the increase in student intake every year is causing major problems with placements due to over applications and one person one offer roles.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not suitable to accommodate the number of students who have been taken in. Labs are clearly obsolete, and hostels are pathetic. I'm in my 3rd year, and I live in an 8ft/10ft room with a roommate and 1 shared table, and my room door barely opens.
Faculty: Everything is outdated and obsolete, the course, the labs, and even the curriculum. The once-required placements are barely taught, and we need to get an online course to do the same. While the classes focus on useless derivatives and problems that are just obsolete.
Other: I got this branch because of a lower JEE rank, but it's bad here, the campus life feels dead, and the crowd is even worse. The connectivity is poor from the city, and no improvement in the overall situation is being made by the administration.

Satisfied and value for money.
Placements: Placement percentage in our college is about 60–70 percent, with the highest package of 35 LPA, average package of 11 LPA, median package of 12 LPA, top recruiters are Infosys, Amazon, Flipkart, Microsoft, Nvidia, TCS, Mahendra, etc., and the top roles offered in our college are mostly tech-oriented and core-based.
Infrastructure: Facilities provided are as follows: 5G Wi-Fi available 24/7, classroom projectors with centralized air conditioning, a very large library with all types of books available, hostel mess food above average, and night canteen available in each hostel.
Faculty: Professors are very helpful and deliver quality education, most of them are Ph.D. qualified, the course curriculum feels quite old, and in our college three types of exams are conducted, mid-semester, end-semester, and quiz, with a pass percentage above 5 CGPA.

The college committee uses most of the money in their pockets. Full corruption is going on.
Placements: The placement states are good for the circuital branch and mechanical branch but other non-circuital branch suffers. In 2024, the highest package offered on campus is approximately 62 LPA.
Infrastructure: It has a good hostel and a nice infrastructure. It maintains hygiene and everything is managed and checked by students. It has a nice environment to study. Wi-Fi is available. It has nice labs and large air-conditioning classrooms. It has a large sports complex.
Faculty: The course curriculum is not relevant at all and they don't focus on modern technology. The old-school methodology is still being followed here. BIT cannot give us placements, and it can only provide us with contacts. Semester exams are very difficult. The relative grading helps to get the bare minimum marks for passing. Faculty members are supportive. It has a huge number of staff members.

The green, lush, and peaceful campus of BIT.
Placements: My department is EEE, which excels in electrical and electronic components and calculations. All the faculty members in my department are very experienced and have flexible ways of working things out. They also provide us with their self-made notes for easier understanding of concepts. The lowest package offered to EEE is 7 LPA, as per my knowledge. The highest offered package was 84 LPA, when I was a newcomer.
Infrastructure: The college and hostels are well-maintained and cleaned, the food is a little pleasant. Other than that, all over the campus Wi-Fi is available, 24/7 power supply, 4 times a day food in the mess. During exam times, the hostel provides supplements for 1 hour during midnight. Night hostel canteens are also available up to 3 am. The labs and classrooms have AC and projectors, and all kinds of technical help needed for better understanding.
Faculty: All faculty are well-behaved and excel at what they do. The syllabus is pretty much good to be completed, and the grades are given accordingly. The exams are divided into 4 parts: 2 quizzes of 10 marks, 1 mid-semister of 25 marks, and 1 end-semister of 50 marks. 5 marks are in the hands of your course faculty.
Other: The products inside the campus are a little costly but overall good. The campus has a huge area for crowd and population management.

Journey of the BIT Mesra.
Placements: Right now, I'm studying in the 2nd year 4th semester. It's a nice journey here. It was a wholesome feeling when I got admission here. Placements were also pretty good when I joined the college. The package is around 12 LPA. Overall, the placement and internship scene has been decent throughout the years sometimes, there was a recession due to Covid-19, else is good.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is great and decent. It is spread over 780 acres which is vast I mean what else do you want on the campus. It is like an adventurous place. I love the beauty of the campus. Classrooms are also decent there is a big library and gymnasium. The main block is also good. The facility is well-educated and has a Ph.D. from big institutes in our country.
Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful. Some are kind of rude and egoistic. They are knowledgeable. They have pretty good knowledge of the proper subjects. Overall the exam pattern is like 20 marks for quizzes, 25 for mid-sems, and 50 for end-seems. Overall, the pattern is good but semester exams are quite good. I mean you can't pass the exams without having good knowledge about the subject or branch.
Other: The degree has value in society. The overall experience would be great. Many fests and events are going on throughout the year. Many societies are made which are of various kinds like music, dance, drama, etc. It's totally good. The overall time spent here has been a good journey for me.

Good faculty and better placements.
Placements: Around 88% of students from the EEE branch were placed in academic year 23 with almost top packages of 50 LPA. Top companies like JP Morgan also visited the college for campus placements but wanted to try something new. There are many other opportunities for startups. By maintaining good contacts with the previous batches, you can have scope for more placements off campus too. Off-campus placements for BIT MESRA were around 1.2 CPA last year. If you are interested and want to give your best, BIT is always open to it and it is a good choice than many NITs.
Infrastructure: Each hostel has free Wi-Fi access with their password for every student. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. It is one of the pride of our college. GP Birla Auditorium is one of the top 5 biggest auditoriums in India. The hostel food is okay. The menu can be changed as per the students. There will be a mess secretary selection among the hostel students. There are many stores inside the campus where you can get almost anything. There is a hill spot called IC with food stores and almost food places on any corner you see.
Faculty: Just like any other college, the faculty is a bit strict. They are friendly too. Just don't mess with them. But good conduct can help you a lot. Overall, the faculty is excellent. The fee will be Rs. 2,00,000 per semester. 1st sem will be deducted Rs. 1,00,000 or so as it was paid in JoSAA or CSAB. The fee includes everything from the hostel to the mess. There is a free bus outside of campus. The tuition fee is Rs. 1,30,000 or so. Overall, it will be around 18,00,000-20,00,000 total for four years. If you give your best, it's worth it.
Other: Coming to the most fun part, events are held every weekend for students to relax. There are various kinds of events after exams. They are conducted by various clubs like tech, dance, singing, and finance. They attract students. Almost every interest has a club. Many benefits are there. We have fests. There are 2 major fests like tech fest which is held in November or December and Pantheon. It is for 3 days. The late March come, the biggest fest in east India. They say Bitotsav with a whooping 5 days of fun-filled events ending with DJs.

BIT Mesra is a good college to try for circuital branches as they have the best ROI.
Placements: If we compare with other colleges, placements for circuital branches like ECE, EEE, AL & ML, and CSE are quite better. Ultimately, placements are good not the best, but it is worth up to circuital branches. Top recruiting companies like Atlassian, Seimens, etc., visit the college for placements. In 2024, more than 90% of eligible students were placed in the EEE department. Some also get PPOs. The average salary package offered was 11.6 LPA and the highest salary package offered was 30 LPA.
Infrastructure: The best thing about BIT Mesra is its campus. The campus is so beautiful and maintained. Every morning we feel like we woke up in heaven. It has lots of greenery and scenic views like a river, etc. Academic facilities are pretty good. We are provided with top equipment. Labs are well-furnished and it has a lot of things to gain experience.
Faculty: Teachers help us but do not expect a lot from them. Seniors will also help us to grow. Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. Many of them are from foreign top universities like Lund University, University of Sweden, etc. Academics is a bit harder than normal and for EEE students, it is really gonna be tough.
Other: It is a good college but it has its own pros and cons.

Review of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra.
Placements: The placement percentage for EEE as of 2023-24 was 69%. The top companies that recruited were Infineon, Tata Steel, Texas Instruments, and Nvidia. The highest package was 51 lakhs. From BIT Mesra, students got good internship opportunities, with almost 50-70% getting a chance. Top roles included executive in plants and digital circuit engineer or verification engineer in the electronics sector.
Infrastructure: The labs are well-equipped with computer systems and other components as needed. We have a high-speed Wi-Fi connection on campus and in the library. The classrooms are good and have proper seating. The library is good with a wide range of books and journals. However, the hostels are not so good. The rooms are good and sufficient for single accommodation, but they are adjusting two students in a single room, which is very suffocating and miserable. The washrooms are common and remain dirty most of the time. The quality of food is inferior, as they use oil as water in food preparation.
Faculty: The teachers here are very helpful and highly qualified, and they have a lot of knowledge in their respective fields. The faculty are involved in various research projects, which helps students get good opportunities. The exams here are more about getting good marks than about learning, and they are easier than exams at reputed IITs. The pass percentage is 40%, which is 40/100. The course curriculum is good but still uses the old pattern, but a new course structure for newly joined students is according to NEP.
Other: I opted for EEE because it is a good branch with great opportunities in the future. The best thing about EEE is that it opens doors to various fields, whether it be electrical, electronics, or IT. The crowd at the college is good and diverse, and the overall atmosphere is good and competitive. The college has two annual fests: BITOTSAV, a cultural fest that generally takes place in March, and PANTHEON, a technical fest that generally takes place in October.

It is a semi government college and for admission in that college, you have to appear for the JEE mains counselling. Only then, you will be able to get in that college.

Hello, No, BIT-Mesra fills its seat via JEE Mains, not via JCECE. People often get confused between BIT Mesra and BIT-Sindri, they are different colleges. One is Birla Institute of Technology-Mesra and other is Birsa Institute of Technology-Sindri.

Yes, you will definitely get BIT-Mesra with 128 marks. Also, your class 12th percentage is more than 75%, so no issues at all. Just wait for the JoSAA counseling 2017.

It may be a loophole but at the end, all that matters is your knowledge and personality. There are some companies which don't allow drop outs to sit for the placements but most of the companies don't differentiate between drop outs and freshers.
