Admission is based on merit and entrance exams. The university accepts national entrance exams such as CAT, MAT, and others. Gujarat University provides scholarships to the lower backward class or SC/ ST for better education and financial support. More than 30 scholarship schemes initiated by the Government of Gujarat are covered by Gujarat University. For developing high-quality research Government of Gujarat has initated a scheme called SHODH (scheme of developing high-quality research ) to offer  financial assistance to students doing qualitative research. Under this scheme, more than 1000 full-time research scholars awarded INR 15,000 per month and INR 20,000 contingency expense P.A. in the last five years. 

For improved education and financial support, Gujarat University gives scholarships to SC/ST students and members of the lower socially and economically privileged classes. The university also works to inspire students to work hard and enjoy reading. Gujarat University administers more than 30 of the state of Gujarat's scholarship programmes.

Yes, Gujarat University does offer BCom course for the duration of three-years. For enrollment a student should have passed Class 12 examination in any stream or equivalent to Standard 12. Student, who has not opted Accountancy as a subject in standard 12 and taken admission in BCom.
