Reason of choosing Guwahati University!

Placements: Sadly, this year's placements were down due to several reasons, such as over-hiring during COVID. Most jobs are for sales profiles. Mahindra & Mahindra Limited hired 6 students as sales executives. Banks and companies are hiring less; ICICI Bank hired a few students for regional sales manager roles. The college allows internships after the second semester. Financial institutions like Kotak offer internships; I got one at Finderbridge Tourism. Internship packages start at 10k, with a salary package ranging from 5 LPA to a minimum of 2.2 LPA.

Infrastructure: My college life is memorable, with plenty of greenery on campus. However, during the rainy season, there are floods and blockages. Since the college is government-funded, fees are not high, and the government provides scholarships ranging from 2 to 40 thousand. The college has a library with MBA academic books, reference books, and novels available. I stay in a PG, but the rent is very high. The rooms are often dirty and unpainted, making it difficult to study. The college does not provide medical facilities, but we excel in sports.

Faculty: The college has some of the best professors and faculty members in the entire Northeast. Most of the teachers are alumni of IIMs and IITs. The curriculum is extensive, and there is limited time to cover it, making exam passing easy but scoring good marks challenging. Just studying from the book will help you pass.

Other: Being a government college is a significant advantage; fees are lower, and even hostel fees are much less compared to private colleges.

I am satisfied with our department.

Placements: Around 70% of students got placed. The average salary package ranged from around 5 to 6 LPA and 12 LPA being the highest. Federal Bank, HDFC, Bandhan Bank, Asian Paints, Dalmia, Horeca, and Marico were some of the recruiting companies. All the students got summer internships with the help of the placement and training cell.

Infrastructure: The course provides dual specialisation in Marketing, Finance, and HR. Classrooms are updated with all digital features as smart rooms, auditorium, department library, hall, recreation room, and case study are there with Wi-Fi connectivity. Hostel facilities are available. Accommodation in a hostel is good and satisfactory with Wi-Fi facilities.

Faculty: Faculty are highly educated and experienced with practical approaches. Teaching quality is good. The pass percentage is 40% including internal and written examinations. Department holds the dignity of organising various seminars, case studies, and field trips for the benefit of students.

Review of Gauhati University - GU.

Placements: Around 80% of students get placement easily. The highest salary package offered was 5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 2 LPA. Around 60% of students from our course got an internship. The top roles are offered in the college, and they support you in every possible manner. It guides you towards your future.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is available within college premises, and the speed of Wi-Fi is also good. Labs, classrooms, and a library are regularly cleaned and maintained. The quality of food served in the college is good, and they prepare different food on different days and special food on special occasions.

Faculty: All the teachers in our college are qualified, helpful and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is awesome, and they will definitely help you to clear your concepts. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready. Exams are quite difficult.

I am satisfied with the faculty members and the placements provided.

Placements: GU has 100% placement record for the last 5-6 years but this time due to recession and COVID 19 many companies were not able to come. Still, we managed to get almost everyone placed except for 20 students. The highest salary package offered 10.3 LPA which was given by Federal Bank and Byju's and the lowest salary package offered was 2.5 LPA which was offered by Varun Beverages. The average salary package offered ranges from 3.5 LPA- 4 LPA. The top recruiting companies are ITC, Asian paints, Berger paints, Bandhan bank, Kotak Mahindra, HDFC, Amul, Marico, ICICI, Mahindra and Mahindra, etc. Almost 100% of the students got their internship from our course in companies like ITC, Asian paints, Amul, Cafe coffee day, SBI kantar, Emani, etc. Top roles offered in our courses are management trainees, probationary officers, Audit officers, etc.

Infrastructure: All the facilities and infrastructure provided by the college are excellent. We have a computer lab, meeting room, case study room, recreation rooms for extra-curricular activities. Library is also available for students. The entire building is enabled with super speed unlimited Wi-Fi and there are washrooms on each floor. Hostels are excellent as well and are with a closed campus and security for 24x7. Hostels are Wi-Fi enabled too and the quality of food served is good to at a very reasonable mess fee. We have our hospital nearby and an ambulance is available 24x7. There are different grounds for different games and indoor stadiums as well. Bathrooms and hostels get cleaned every day and everything is clean.

Faculty: All the teachers in our college are well-qualified and very knowledgeable. They try to help us to grow in every way they can. The teaching is also excellent. In the first and second semesters, we have soft skill classes that groom us for the industry. We are also taken for industrial visits every semester.

Other: I chose this course because an MBA is the easiest subject to land yourself a job. The best thing about this course is that the placements at Gauhati University are very good. The only thing that the university needs to improve is their examination department. There are a lot of good events and fest being held every year which are fun and it's a very good platform to show one's skills. The crowd is amazing and the campus is situated on the outskirts of the city and is beautiful. It's filled with plants and it is surreal to look at. It provides 100% scholarships to students belonging to less privileged families.

I hope it does better. The teachers are very supportive.

Placements: There is 98% campus placement. Package ranges from 10 lacs per annum to 4 lac per annum. HDFC, ICICI, Tech Mahindra, Mahindra and Mahindra, Kotak, etc. are some of the companies. Also, the alumni of this university are at really good position. The college is doing good but it also has the potential to do better.

Infrastructure: The quality of the students and the education is good. But it requires more infrastructure. If it does more improvement infrastructure wise then the college will definitely become one of the best colleges. Also, it is a renowned university in Northeast India.

Faculty: Yes, for sure they are. They are very highly qualified and knowledge. Yes, the course makes students ready industry. The course curriculum is relevant. But I wish it was more practical than theoretical. Practical knowledge is more important I believe in today's generation.

Other: They are good.
