IIT Bombay offers a two-year MA by Research in three specialisations. Admission to the course is based on an entrance exam score followed by an interview round. The average and median packages offered during IIT Bombay placements 2024 stood at INR 23.5 LPA and INR 17.92 LPA, respectively. The overall placement rate recorded during IIT Bombay placements 2024 was 74.53% with 1,475 students participating in the process out of 1,979 students. A total of 930 students registered, 819 students participated and 683 students were placed durinng BTech placements 2024. The placement percentage went this low because of minimal or no participation in the placement process from over 400 students. Most of them went for higher studies, such as MS / MTech / PhD and MBA courses, while many opted for entrepreneurship or civil services.

Hostel and mess security deposit is a one-time fee during the entire duration of the student's stay in the hostel. Yes, the amount is refunded on vacating the hostel provided the concerned student is not charged with any fine for hostel/ mess damage. In case a student withdraws admission after paying the hostel fee, he or she is refunded fee after deduction of processing fee of INR 1,000.
IIT Bombay CAT cutoff 2024 was released for admission to MBA course. The cutoff was released for different categories belonging to the All India quota. Among the General AI category candidates, the cutoff percentile was 90, therefore it was possible for the General AI category candidates to get admission at 90 percentile.

IIT Bombay admission to all the courses is entrance-based (Except for EMBA, where admission is merit-based and performance in the interview round). The IIT Bombay admission process includes the application process, selection round, cutoff, merit list or counselling and other steps. For BTech, candidates have to clear JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Further for other courses such as MTech, MBA, MSc, BDes, and MDes, aspirants need to clear GATE, CAT, IITJAM, UCEED, and CEED, respectively to qualify for further admission rounds.
IIT JAM is the entrance exam for MSc admission at IIT Bombay. To get a call from IIT Bombay, the students must secure a rank of up to 712 for MSc admission. This required rank is valid for the General AI category students. For other categories, the cutoff rank will be different.
