JMI Entrance Exam is a pen and paper-based test which is designed to assess a candidate's analytical aptitude, logical reasoning skills, English comprehension and general awareness. It may sound tough, but these are the skills which we are taught in school so there is nothing new to learn. Even if you are an average student, you will find a lot of familiar topics in the sections asked in Jamia Millia Entrance Exam.

Q:   Is JMI entrance exam syllabus easy or tough?

The difficulty level of JMI entrance exam syllabus depends on the course. the JMI syllabus difficulty level for UG courses is moderate as most of the topics are related to Class 12 topics. No marks will be deducted for unanswered questions in JMI entrance exam. Such questions will not be taken into consideration while calculating JMI score. So, if candidates are not sure about the answer of a question, it is better not to answer instead of guessing, to avoid negative marking. Although candidates should attempt all questions in descriptive part and refrain from leaving questions.

Q:   I marked two answers for a question in JMI Entrance Exam. One of the answers is correct. Will I get full marks for this question?

Q:   Will JMI Entrance Exam have sectional time limit?
A: 

No, there is no time limit to solve a section in JMI Entrance Exam. The total duration of the exam varies according to the course. Hence, on an average, candidates will get around five minutes for each MCQ. Candidates must keep a tab on the timing as JMI Exam is a time-pressed exam. Before the exam day, candidates are advised to prepare a time management strategy wherein a particular timing should be assigned for each section or subject. They must also note that they will not be given any extra time to complete the exam, nor will they be allowed to take breaks in between or leave before time.

Q:   When is the BA political science entrance exam of JMI?
A: 
Jamia Millia Islamia offers Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Admission to this course is done through JMI Entrance Exam. Candidates who qualify the written test and meet the cut off declared by the university are called for counselling. The exam pattern for B.A. Political Science is such that it consists of four sections: English, General Awareness, Reasoning and Social Awareness. Around 100 multiple choice questions are asked from all the sections. There is no sectional time limit in this exam but there is a provision of negative marking. For each wrong answer, 0.25 marks are deducted as penalty. However, no marks are deducted for unattempted questions. The duration of the exam is 1 hour 30 minutes. Candidates are required to prepare well in advance to clear the JMI Entrance Exam.

As per exam pattern for JMI entrance exam 2026 for MBA, there are three sections in question paper. These are Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and English. The JMI question paper includes 170 objtective type questions and candidates will get three hours to complete exam. Examinees have to mark the correct answer in OMR sheet. There is also a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

Yes, candidates can register for JMI Entrance Exam first and fill the application form later because once the login credentials are generated candidates have the option to login any time and complete the application form. However, candidates must avoid keeping the form incomplete for a long time to avoid last minute problems. Also, candidates must read all the instructions thoroughly before filling the form and keep the documents ready in required dimensions for uploading. Candidates should note that without payment of application fee the application form is considered incomplete and not processed further.
Q:   What is JMI entrance exam selection criteria?

To get admission at Jamia Millia Islamia, students have to register and appear for the entrance exam. JMI will offer seats based on scores obtained in exam. For some courses, candidates have to also appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.
