Supportive faculty and modern campus, but placements need improvement.

Placements: I’m currently in the 2nd year of B.Tech Computer Science (BTCS) at Kalinga University, Raipur. I’m sharing my honest view about placements here so far, based on what seniors and faculty have told us. The college has a decent placement cell. They organize sessions on aptitude, coding, resume building, and soft skills from the 3rd year onwards. Seniors told me that companies like TCS, Wipro, HCL, and some local startups do visit the campus. Most of the packages are between 2.5 and 4 LPA, depending on your skills.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of Kalinga University is modern and well-maintained, with smart classrooms, computer labs, a central library, and Wi-Fi across campus. The campus is spacious and green. Hostels are decent with 24/7 security, basic furniture, and attached washrooms. Mess food is average but hygienic. There’s a common room, laundry, and medical facilities. Overall, hostel life is comfortable for students.

Faculty: The faculty at Kalinga University is supportive and knowledgeable, especially in core subjects like programming, data structures, and DBMS. Many professors are Ph.D. holders or are experienced in their fields. The BTCS curriculum is industry-oriented, covering emerging areas like AI, ML, and web development. Regular seminars, workshops, and coding events are conducted. However, to stay ahead, students are encouraged to do extra learning through online platforms. Overall, the curriculum is good, but self-study and practical application matter a lot.

I am satisfied with the college. Worth it.

Placements: 70% of students were placed last year in top companies. The highest placement salary was 12 LPA, while the lowest was 3 LPA. The average salary was 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies included Infosys, Accenture, and others. 70% of students from my course received internships at leading tech companies like Google.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure at the institution is quite good, featuring a large library and a spacious sports complex on campus, along with widespread Wi-Fi availability throughout the campus and hostel. Our hostel rooms are quite spacious and equipped with a full Wi-Fi connection and CCTV for security.

Faculty: The faculty members are highly experienced with good teaching skills. They explain concepts practically, which helps us easily grasp the material. There are additional facilities available for industry engagement, such as opportunities to interact and improve our speaking skills.

Other: I chose the B.Tech course because I have always wanted to explore my ideas and realize my potential in the digital field. This course allows me to delve into areas such as web development and data analytics, thereby helping me build a successful career. Everything is satisfactory, and there is no need for updates. Events are organized throughout the year, and the campus crowd is average. Scholarships are available based on your 12th-grade percentage, CUET scores, and several other factors.

Review of Kalinga University.

Placements: As far as I know, about 70% of students get placed this year. The highest package is 12 LPA, and the lowest package ranges from 3-4 LPA. Some top recruiting companies for our course are Accenture, TCS, Dell, Tech Mahindra, Just Dial, ASP OL Media, etc. As we are in the 1st year, about 30% of students get internships at IntrnForte. Top roles offered in my course include software developer, data analyst, cloud engineer, and AI engineer, with the most sought-after roles often depending on specialisation areas like machine learning.

Infrastructure: KU boasts a well-developed infrastructure with modern facilities including fully Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms equipped with projectors and well-stocked labs. The library has a vast collection of books and digital resources. KU has I think best hostel facilities as compared to other private colleges including 24x7 Wi-Fi, medical facilities, spacious halls, and ample rooms. KU has 3 spacious hall messes to accommodate a large no of students at a time. It is managed by the institution itself, to serve the students with good quality, healthy and nutritious meals. It also has a large sports complex for students.

Faculty: KU generally has a reputation for having qualified and helpful teachers with good teaching experience. Faculty members are knowledgeable in their subjects, cooperative, and supportive. The course curriculum is highly relevant and makes students industry-ready. It covers core concepts of computer science, programming languages, algorithms, and data structures. As I experienced, the semester exams are moderately difficult, with a minimum pass percentage of 40%.

Other: I chose this course because, at the age of 12, I always had a dream to become a software engineer. The best thing that happened to me was I got an AIML specialisation in B.Tech. My Experience at Kalinga University.

Placements: According to data, the percentage of B. Tech students getting placement in 2024 varies around 60-90% of students securing placements. The highest B. Tech package can reach up to 40-50 LPA offered by top companies, while the average package is around 10.25 LPA, with the lowest packages typically starting from 3-6 LPA. Some of the top recruiting companies like Wipro, Cognizant, TCS, Accenture, HCL, etc. KU provides many internships on live projects. Top roles offered to B. Tech graduates include Software Developer, Data Scientist, Cloud Engineer, Cybersecurity Analyst.

Infrastructure: Kalinga University has a wide range of facilities and infrastructure like smart classrooms, laboratories, auditoriums, seminar rooms, cafeterias, and a sports complex. The university has well-equipped medical facilities, a huge sports complex, and also has a canteen and mess that serves healthy and nutritious meals.

Faculty: Kalinga University is generally considered to have good teaching quality with qualified faculty. The teachers are helpful, cooperative, and masters in their subjects. The B. Tech curriculum can be considered relevant and prepares students for the industry to a certain extent, and the students take the initiative to acquire additional skills beyond coursework. At the end of the semester, the exams are typically hard, as I feel. The pass percentage is about 50%.

Other: I chose the B. Tech course because I have a strong interest in technology and I wanted a degree that would equip me with practical skills to design and create innovative solutions in the real world. To improve, there should be a stronger emphasis on practical applications, industry-relevant skills like coding and data analysis.

The college campus is lovely.

Placements: Approximately 30% of the students get placed based on eligibility criteria. The highest salary package offered is 20 LPA and the lowest is 2.30 LPA. The recruiting companies are Accenture, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro. Many students secured internships from our course.

Infrastructure: The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled. There are all types of labs. There is a separate building for commerce, science, and pharmacy. Mess facility, big canteen, medical room, sports complex, and game zone are available.

Faculty: Teachers are very talented, gentle, and knowledgeable. Semester exams are difficult in 2nd year. In 3rd semester, the passing marks are 28 out of 70. Teachers are helpful, qualified.

Other: The campus is lovely.

Placements: The college provides placements but most of the time it's about sees or marking. Established in 2011, Kalinga University, Raipur has made significant progress as far as its association with prominent recruiters is concerned. From top IT companies like Accenture and IBM to top banks like Axis Bank and Kotak Mahindra bank, the alumni have been successfully placed in Apex organisations. The below infographic displays some of the top recruiters for Kalinga University. The top recruiting companies that came to our college are Buju's, Wipro, Cognizant, and many more. The training and placement department of our university is most active and it helps students to do their summer training and also internships in the industry.

Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is good. The campus is enabled with Wi-Fi. The hostel is also good. One can get chilled RO water to drink, but the food is not good. The available facilities on campus are a computer lab, electronics lab, engineering labs, IT lab, science lab, applied chemistry lab, applied physics lab, engineering graphics lab, electrical circuits lab, Emmi lab, deld lab, electronic instrumentation lab, machine drawing lab, material testing lab, engineering thermodynamics lab, kinematics of machines lab, control system lab, programming with C lab, data structures lab, web technology lab, database management system lab, fluid mechanics lab, drawing lab, lab network security lab, and cell biology and biomolecules lab.

Faculty: Faculty members in our college are good. The curriculum and the exams are great. The course curriculum is relevant and it makes students ready for their future and industry-ready. Teachers are very helpful and provide a comprehensive approach to teaching so that students are able to understand each topic easily.
