No, the university selects candidates for M.Tech course based on merit in the last qualifying exam. Candidates need to fulfil the eligibility requirements to apply for M.Tech course. Aspirants must pass bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology in the concerned discipline with at least 60% aggregate to apply for the M.Tech course. Candidates who have passed MSc Life Science can be considered for M.Tech Biotechnology/ Food Processing & Engineering. Admission to BTech course is based on JEE Main/ KEE score. KEE or Karunya Entrance Examination conducted every year for admission to UG courses of Engineering, Agriculture, Biosciences, Criminology, Management, Media, Design, Nursing, Health science, Data Science, Forensic Science, Commerce, Nanoscience, Optometry. After completion of the selection rounds, shortlisted candidates are called for counselling and document verification. Candidates need to pay the course fee to confirm their admission.
The Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu will release the TNEA 2026 counselling process dates for registration, assignment of random numbers, Certificate verifications, rank list publication, and finally, the counselling. The counselling rounds will include steps like Choice Filling, Allotment, Confirmation of Allotment, and Reporting to the College/TFC and payment of fees depending upon their confirmation.
BE/B.Tech admission in Tamil Nadu is done based on the online counselling process called TNEA. There is no state-level entrance exam for admission in Tamil Nadu. Candidates have to register and appear for the online Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions TNEA counselling held every year. 10+2 passed/appearing candidates can apply for TNEA counselling. Admission will be based on marks obtained by the candidates in the relevant subjects, namely, Maths Physics and Chemistry which will be reduced to 200 (Maths 100, Physics 50 and Chemistry 50).
