    KGMU accepts admission to most of the Medical courses through a valid score in NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the sole entrance test for admission to the BDS and MBBS programmes in India. According to the KGMU (King George's Medical University) cutoff for Round 2 in 2023, the closing ranks for all BDS and MBBS specialisations ranged from 1647 to 26203.     A: 

    The NEET SS application fee is INR 3,500. The fee is same for candidates belonging to each category. This is the application fee for each group. Hence, candidates planning to apply for two groups will have to pay INR 7,000 (3,500 + 3,500). The fee has to be paid in online mode, via credit/debit card or net banking. NBE states, "Applications forms once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Fee shall neither be carried forward to a future date nor refunded under any circumstances. Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Any claim for refund, adjustment or carrying forward of Application fee will not be entertained. Examination fees in respect of candidates who are absent or have been declared ineligible due to any reason will be forfeited." As compared to last year, the fee has been reduced. Last year, the fee amount was INR 4,250 for each group.

    For admission to a three-year MD course at KGMU, there is basic eligibility criteria as per NBE norms. Admissions to this course is based on NEET PG scores.     Probably a Dream college with best infrastructure and teaching faculty of the country.
    Placements: 100% doctors got very good job. Some of them started their own hospital. About 20% continued their studies for super specialisation in various branches. The average package was around 800000 to 120000: Rs per year. Both corporate and mid size hospital were there to take the students at very lucrative salaries.
    Infrastructure: Excellent quality of food as the mess was run by Doctors only. Over all Hostel was very good and comfortable. Almost all the sports activity was available for the students. Cost of food used to be quite low and quality used to be excellent. Labs were well-equipped and library was very big with availability of the latest books and journals. Library used to open for about 18 hours per day.
    Faculty: Probably best teacher were available and the course curriculum was governed by mci India. Students were well prepared for future industry. Teachers were available round the clock to solve any problem. Evening teaching was a trend which was unique for this college.
    Other: To become a Doctor was my dream. MCI is already working on it and has landmark changes seeing the future demand of the country. Annual fest and function was regular feature. Inter college activity used to be the big event.

    A: 

    Admissions to MD at KGMU is entirely done via NEET PG scores. To apply for KGMU MD admissions, candidates are required to appear for NEET PG entrance exam in the first place. For that, aspirants must fill an online application form on the official website of NEET PG. The step-wise application process  for KGMU is given below:

    Step 1: Visit the official website and register yourself.

    Step 2: No candidate can register for more than one application

    Step 3: Fill the application form with all the mandatory details.

    Step 4: Pay the application fees online through debit/ credit card/ net banking.

    Step 5: Check the status of your application including images in your ‘My Page’ section.

    Step 6: Take a printout of the application form for future use.

    Q:   What are the entrance exams accepted by KGMU?
    A: 

    KGMU grants admission to various UG and PG courses on the basis of various exams. For MD and MS specialisations, the cutoff is released on the basis of NEET PG. For MBBS and BDS admission, the cutoff is released on the basis of performance in the NEET and UP NEET exams. For MDS, NEET MDS is accepted and for MD/MDS, UP NEET PG is accepted. NEET SS, Meghalaya MBBS and Arunachal Pradesh NEET are also accepting exams for some courses. 

    Q:   What is the cutoff for admission to KGMU?
    A: 

    KGMU accepts NEET PG scores for the admission to MD and MS specialisations. Recently, KGMU cutoff 2024 Round 2 seat allotment has been released by the institute. As per the cutoff data, the Round 2 ranged between 295 and, 101494 for the General AI category candidates. Among all the courses, the most desirable course among candidates was MD in Radiodiagnosis

    Q:   How to get admission to MD at KGMU?
    A: 

    For admission to three-year PG course of MD at KGMU, candidates are required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. Candidates who passed MBBS with 50% aggregate are eligible to apply for this course. KGMU MD admissions are done based on the NEET PG entrance exam scores, which is conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE). Further, the final seat allotment to selected candidates is done through a state level counselling process, i.e., UP NEET PG, which is held by Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET). As per the selection criteria, candidates are selected based on both past academic records and scores of entrance exams. 

    Q:   How can I get admission to DM at KGMU?
    A: 

    In order to get admission to DM at KGMU, the minimum eligibility criteria is to get a PG degree of MD/ MS or any equivalent. DM is a super specialisaed course, admission to this course is entirely entrance-based. For admission to this course, candidates have to check the eligibility in the first place and appear for NEET SS entrance exam. This entrance exam is conducted by NBE every year. Those who qualify this entrance exam will be allocated seats as per the NEET SS Counselling. For the counselling process, candidates have to register themselves on the official website of MCC.

    Q:   What are the factors affecting KGMU cutoff 2024?
    A: 

    Every year, the cut off marks for the KGMU NEET exam are affected due to the following factors:

    • The difficulty level of the exam. In case the question paper is easy then the NEET cut offs are expected to go high and vice-versa.
    • Total number of applications received. If the total applications received are less then the cut off is expected to be relaxed. 
    • Total candidates qualifying NEET exam. If the total number of qualifying candidates is less than the total seats then cut off goes low
    • Total number of seats. If the total number of seats is revised and increased then cut off is expected to remain low
    • Previous year cut offs. For the top colleges, the cut-off marks in previous years were high, therefore, only topper candidates could make it for final admissions. Fore other colleges, the cut off marks are relatively low.
