For admission to a three-year MD course at KGMU, there is basic eligibility criteria as per NBE norms. Admissions to this course is based on NEET PG scores. To appear for this entrance exam and admission to MD is offered to those who hold MD degree from a university recognised by Medical Council of India with minimum 55% aggregate in the case of General & OBC categories. There is a relaxation of five percent for SC/ ST category candidates. The reserved category candidates are required to obtain 50% aggregate in the last qualifying exam of MD.

For admission to three-year PG course of MD at KGMU, candidates are required to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. Candidates who passed MBBS with 50% aggregate are eligible to apply for this course.
