DGME Uttar Pradesh has released the guidelines and policies for admission to postgraduate courses (MD/MS/Diploma/DNB/MDS) in government and private medical/dental colleges and universities for 20260-27 academic session. Candidates can check the UP NEET PG counselling policies to know the eligibility criteria, registration fees, security money, reservation system, and counselling process.

There will be three rounds of UP NEET PG counselling followed by Stray Round counselling. Candidates who qualify in NEET PG will be eligible to participate in UP NEET counselling 2026. The detailed notification and dates for UP NEET PG counselling will be updated online.

UP NEET PG Counselling 2026: Eligibility Criteria

In order to get admission for UP NEET PG 2026, students need to fulfill following elligibility criteria:

Candidate must have completed MBBS from a recognised institute located in Uttar Pradesh
Candidate who are domiciled in state of Uttar Pradesh and have completed their MBBS degree from an institute outside Uttar Pradesh (15% AIQ seat), can also apply for UP NEET PG 2026 counselling.
Only those candidates who have passed MBBS/BDS from Uttar Pradesh are eligible for admission to seats of government/state/private/deemed universities
Candidates who are not domiciled in the State of Uttar Pradesh and have completed their MBBS degree from outside Uttar Pradesh can apply for seats in the private universities only.
He/she must have completed the compulsory rotatory internship by September 31, 2026.
He/she must have qualified NEET PG 2026

UP NEET PG Counselling 2026: The Process

Students seeking admission to UP NEET PG 2026 courses need to register online and follow the process given below:

Online Application and Registration

Students have to register on the official website, upneet.gov.in
Candidates are advised to register using the same mobile number and email ID used for NEET PG 2026 registration
Post completion of the registration process, they will be redirected to the application form of UP NEET PG counselling 2026
They must fill in all details carefully and upload required documents
Students will have to pay a non-refundable registration fee of INR 3,000. Registration fee can be paid using a credit card/debit card/UPI/net banking.
Registration number for UP NEET PG 2026 application will be sent to the registered mobile number of the candidate

State Merit List

A merit list for those candidates who registered for counselling of UP NEET PG 2026 will be uploaded on the official website. The merit list will be released on the basis of marks scored in the NEET PG exam
Candidates included in the merit list will be participating in UP NEET PG 2026 counselling.

Choice Filling

To access choice filling form, a candidate has to login to his/her registered account. Choices filled can be edited any number of times till final submission. Candidates are thus advised to save changes every time to avoid losing data. Candidates must also note that choices will not be considered until he/she chooses ‘Submit and Lock’ option available at end. Candidates who fail to lock choices will not be considered for seat allotment.

Seat Allotment

Seat allotment list is prepared by the DMER based on basis of choices filled by candidates, seats available as per rooster and inter-se merit of candidate. This list is uploaded on official website. Selected candidates who wish to retain seat allocated to them must report to respective nodal centre before deadline. If a candidate fails to report to college/nodal centre, his/her seat will be forfeited.

Payment of Tuition Fee

Candidates who will be allotted a seat in counselling of UP NEET PG 2026 need to pay course fee in order to confirm their admission. Only after course fee payment, candidate will be able to download allotment letter. Course fee for UP NEET PG counselling 2026 has to be paid online. Payment mode can be a credit card, debit card or net banking.

No. Candidates do have to pay registration fee INR 3,000 during starting of round-1 only. This fee will be valid till round-3 counselling. For stray vacancy round, candidates do have to register afresh and pay fee of INR 2,000. It must be noted fee once deposited will not be refunded.
