KGMU offers admission to MBBS course for a duration to five and half years (66 months). Admission to MBBS courses is entirely entrance-based. In order to get admission to MBBS course at KGMU, candidates must pass Class 12 with minimum 50% aggregate from a recognised board. Form MBBS admissions, KGMU accepts valid scores of NEET UG, which is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) every year. KGMU grants admission to various UG and PG courses on the basis of various exams. For MD and MS specialisations, the cutoff is released on the basis of NEET PG. For MBBS and BDS admission, the cutoff is released on the basis of performance in the NEET and UP NEET exams. For MDS, NEET MDS is accepted and for MD/MDS, UP NEET PG is accepted. NEET SS, Meghalaya MBBS and Arunachal Pradesh NEET are also accepting exams for some courses. 

For admission to a three-year MD course at KGMU, there is basic eligibility criteria as per NBE norms. Admissions to this course is based on NEET PG scores. To appear for this entrance exam and admission to MD is offered to those who hold MD degree from a university recognised by Medical Council of India with minimum 55% aggregate in the case of General & OBC categories. There is a relaxation of five percent for SC/ ST category candidates. The reserved category candidates are required to obtain 50% aggregate in the last qualifying exam of MD. 

To get admission into KGMU throught UP NEET exam, student must target the rank as per the cutoff list. As per the cutoff, the closing rank for General Home State category stood at 3484. Among the OBC HS category the last round closing rank was 3665. For SC Home State, ST Home State and PWD Home State category candidates also, the cutoff ranks were lenient than 3000. Therefore, it is possible to get admission into KGMU through UP NEET rank of 3000.

KGMU accepts NEET PG scores for the admission to MD and MS specialisations. Recently, KGMU cutoff 2024 Round 2 seat allotment has been released by the institute. As per the cutoff data, the Round 2 ranged between 295 and, 101494 for the General AI category candidates. Among all the courses, the most desirable course among candidates was MD in Radiodiagnosis. 

In order to get admission to DM at KGMU, the minimum eligibility criteria is to get a PG degree of MD/ MS or any equivalent. DM is a super specialisaed course, admission to this course is entirely entrance-based. For admission to this course, candidates have to check the eligibility in the first place and appear for NEET SS entrance exam. This entrance exam is conducted by NBE every year. Admissions to MD at KGMU is entirely done via NEET PG scores. To apply for KGMU MD admissions, candidates are required to appear for NEET PG entrance exam in the first place. For that, aspirants must fill an online application form on the official website of NEET PG. The step-wise application process  for KGMU is given below:

Step 3: Fill the application form with all the mandatory details.

The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at KGMU - King George's Medical University other than General category are - 2029 for OBC, 106643 for SC, 56190 for ST, 1844 for EWS, 204412 for PWD. Every year, the cut off marks for the KGMU NEET exam are affected due to the following factors:

• The difficulty level of the exam. In case the question paper is easy then the NEET cut offs are expected to go high and vice-versa.
• Total number of applications received. If the total applications received are less then the cut off is expected to be relaxed. 
• Total candidates qualifying NEET exam. If the total number of qualifying candidates is less than the total seats then cut off goes low
• Total number of seats. If the total number of seats is revised and increased then cut off is expected to remain low
• Previous year cut offs. For the top colleges, the cut-off marks in previous years were high, therefore, only topper candidates could make it for final admissions. Fore other colleges, the cut off marks are relatively low.
