No, candidates do not have the option to change their college under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. If they wish to change, they are required to appear for the necessary entrance test again. However, a few articles on the internet mention that students can change their college after the first year but they are required to clear all the exams of the first year for the same. For better clarity on the subject, candidates are advised to reach out to the admission office of MAKAUT or the affiliated institute under the university. 

Candidates need to visit the MAKAUT website and download the application form. Then fill out the application form and submit it along with the required documents. After this, candidates need to pay the application fee and appear for the MAKAUT entrance exam. Candidates who are selected will be issued an admission letter. The application fee to apply is INR 500 for General and OBC category candidates and INR 250 for SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates. The entrance exams accepted include MAKAUT CET WBJEE PGET, UGC NET JEMAT and GATE etc.

Candidates wanting to get admission to MAKAUT for BTech must qualify West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) exam and WBJEE Counselling. Those willing to get admission in the second year must appear for JELET (for Lateral Entry). MAKAUT also accepts JEE Main exam for BTech admission. 

BTech at MAKAUT fhas a duration of four years. The university follows a semester based system and hence, BTech is divided into 8 semesters. Students must pass each semester exam conducted at the end of each semester to proceed to the next.

No, admission to BTech programme at MAKAUT is entrance based with the university accepting JEE MAIN scores for the same. Direct admissions are not granted to any student category. The minimum eligibility for BTech mut be met before applying for admission to the same.

MAKAUT offers BTech programme across two specialisations at the University department, i.e. CSE and IT. However, there are more than 20 BTech specialisations available at the affiliated colleges of MAKAUT. After submitting the application form for MAKAUT CET, login credentials are generated. Candidates need to log in to pay the application fee. Paid online, the application fee for CET for General and OBC category candidates is INR 500 for undergraduate and postgraduate courses. However, for SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates, the application fee is half the amount for General category candidates, i.e. INR 250.
