Excellent campus for M.Sc. Microbiology in Kerala.
Placements: As it is a Life Science course, the placement for the course from the campus is very low. The students usually clear NET exams with a JRF scholarship and take part in research works. However, the university can refer the students for various Life Science projects and internships provided by biotechnology companies in the world.
Infrastructure: The campus provides all the necessary facilities including a library, 24-hour reading room, canteen, coffee shops, printing shops, health center, etc. The campus library has a plethora of reference texts, journals, and articles. The campus also provides Wi-Fi for students. The university hostel within the campus is really affordable for all students. The food in the hostel is worth the money we pay. The health center and ambulance service are available for students on the campus itself.
Faculty: The faculty here are well-experienced, holding Ph.D. and doing post-doctoral work. The course curriculum follows the syllabus prescribed by the university, which is similar to the syllabus of the CSIR NET exam. The theory and practicals align with modern technological applications. The university conducts two internal and one external exam with a passing percentage of 40.
Other: I chose this course as I am interested in Life Science. Doing a post-graduation in a university campus offers more exposure and skills than in a college campus. The campus is very spacious and free for students. The campus celebrates all festivals and participates in inter-college competitions.
