NIT Durgapur MSc Courses & Fees 2025: Placements, Cutoff, Admission Dates

Candidates must pass BSc in relevant discipline with at 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA (55% aggregate or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ ST) to apply for NIT Durgapur MSc programme. Besides, aspirants must also pass IIT JAM followed by CCMN Counselling for admission to MSc.

National Institute of Technology Durgapur offers a two-year full-time MSc course at the postgraduate level. Candidates seeking admission to the MSc course need to appear for the IIT JAM entrance test. NIT Durgapur MSc admission is done on the basis of valid IIT JAM scores, followed by a counselling process.

NIT Durgapur does not provide a BSc programme, but an Integrated BSc + MSc programme in Chemistry. The duration of the programme is five years. It leads to a dual-degree, i.e. a BSc and an MSc degree in Chemistry. NITD has an intake of 19 students for the five-year programme. Admission to the programme is based on JEE (Main) ranks and seats are allocated through JoSAA/CSAB counselling.

NIT may permit change in branch of BTech of a student admitted through JEE (Main) after the second semester if there are any vacancies in that branch based upon JoSAA/CSAB seat matrix category wise.

Only those students will be considered for change of branch who have:

i) completed all courses in the first semester and second semester in the first attempt

ii) have secured a SGPA not less than 8.75 in both semesters

Admissions in BTech at NIT Durgapur are given based upon the JEE (Main) marks. The students who clear the JEE (Main) cutoff of the college are offered admission in NIT Durgapur. So the admission process in NIT Durgapur start after the release of JEE (Main) result. The results of JEE (Mains) for both sessions are expected to be released by April. So NIT Durgapur admission will start after that.

To get admission to NIT Durgapur for CSE, candidates can have a rank of 12268 or below according to NIT Durgapur BTech cutoff 2025 if they belong to the General AI category. 

The cutoff for the OBC AI category candidates was closed at 16608 for CSE. For the SC AI and ST AI category candidates, the cutoff ranks closed at 1641 and 584, respectively. For the EWS AI category candidates, the cutoff was closed at 13104. For the PWD category candidates, the cutoff was closed at 406 for BTech in CSE.

NIT Durgapur JEE Main cutoff 2025 has been released for all rounds. The cutoff was released for candidates seeking admission to the BTech and integrated BTech specialisations. The JEE (Main) cut off for BTech CSE in NIT Durgapur is different for Home state candidates and Other state candidates.
