B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering - Batch of 2026

Good infrastructure and placement opportunities with support.
Placements: I am from the 2022 batch of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Around 40% of the students were placed, with the highest package being 12LPA, and the lowest of 3.5 3.5LPA. Top recruiters included Infosys, TCS, Mathworks, Accenture, etc.
Infrastructure: The ECE department has a well-equipped campus and a central library with a wide range of technical resources. The hostel provides 24/7 water and electricity, though the mess food is average. Medical assistance is available on campus, and student assistance is available on campus. Students have access to various sports and recreation facilities.
Faculty: The teachers were helpful, well-qualified and explained concepts clearly with practical insights. The course curriculum is relevant and includes industry-oriented subjects that help students develop technical and analytical skills. Semester exams are moderately difficult, and the overall pass percentage is around 85 - 90%.
Other: I chose Electronics and Communication Engineering because it offers a strong foundation in both software and hardware.

Very satisfied with college faculty members and there are good placements.
Placements: As I am studying in 2nd year I haven't talked with our super seniors completely. But I asked once they told me placements in our college in the last year were terrible compared to other years. The highest package is 32 LPA. The lowest package is 7 LPA, and average is 10 LPA. Top recruiters of our college are TCS and Wipro.
Infrastructure: We have no Wi-Fi in addition we have jammers to block the network. Labs are well-designed and maintained properly. Classrooms are really good with projectors including clear board, nice ventilation, and very comfortable. Library is also very good having many books.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful to us. They have nice qualifications and are friendly when teaching us. They also help us in lab practical very well. Curriculum is relevant and does help in keeping students industry-ready. Exams are really tough but you could pass if you study well.

As in every college, there is something that you will not like, but you have to take.
Placements: In my branch this year in 2025, 93.4 % of students got placed in various job roles, with the highest as 25 LPA, average, and median is approximately 9 LPA. Top recruiting companies in the core are JSW, Vedanta, Tata Steel, etc. A few students from my department got internships as well. Top roles offered in the core field and in the noc core as SDE, etc. As most of the students got placed in my branch, it is a good thing when we talk about CSE ECE, they have really good packages this year. 8 students got 80 LPA job offers from Apple India, mainly from the CSE branch.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is well maintained here at NIT Durgapur, I must say, all facilities such as Wi-Fi, labs, classroom, library, and more than what we expect. In my hostel, we got three-seater rooms, but they are spacious and you will definitely love your big room. Washrooms are also well maintained, they keep them clean on a regular basis. Water cooler on each floor, you will have both options for normal water and cold water. Mess food is good, seriously, I personally feel it is good, you can eat it easily. If you are a non-vegetarian, then congrats.
Faculty: Teachers are knowledgeable and definitely they are well-qualified. The course curriculum is relevant, and teachers help us in every aspect. As we talk about semester exams, they are neither easy nor hard if you prepare well, even if you have a few days of exam, you will get a decent score. Pass percentage is, as usual 35%.
Other: I got enrolled in the metallurgical and material engineering branch because my rank was that high only. But I am satisfied with my course, and Durgapur is known for industry, so for our branch, it is a plus point. All things are running smoothly, no need to improve. We have a cultural fest, Aarohan, which is held in the month of October.

My college life and my 4 years.
Placements: In my college, around 885 of students were placed during the placement season, the highest package is 51 LPA till now, and the lowest package is around 10 LPA, the average package is 11 LPA, and the median is 9 LPA. Top companies are Amazon, Flipkart, Microsoft, etc. Many students also got internship offers. Roles like data analyst, software engineer, software developer, and core companies also give good roles and offers.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure for my course is good. My course is Electrical Engineering, and the department is good. The lab infrastructure is also very good, and the hostel is very good. The mess food is good but very much. In my college, we have a sports complex which is good.
Faculty: First of all, the professors of the college are not that bad, they are good and very helpful towards students. They are approachable and very much supportive of students and for any other reasons also. They try their best on their side to give the best output.
Other: I chose this course because I like it and also because of my rank. This is a pretty good and hard course. Because Electrical Engineering is hard, we have to do our best every day for a bright future.

NIT Durgapur College review.
Placements: NIT Durgapur is doing well when it comes to placements. In the 2023 season, they boasted an impressive placement rate of 84.66 percent. The highest package offered is 70 LPA. Just to keep things in perspective last year's numbers are not quite as stellar. Only around 72 percent of students managed to land jobs. For those in the CSE department, the highest package reached 54 LPA while the average package is a bit lower at 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: The facilities in our department are good. We have Wi-Fi and the lab equipment is in great shape. Our classrooms are clean, spacious, and equipped with projectors. The library is huge with over 200,000 books. The medical and sports facilities are top-notch. The hostels are a bit old and not great for second-year students but they are okay for most others. The food in the mess which I will honestly rate a 2 out of 5.
Faculty: Teachers are very qualified and always ready to help. They are knowledgeable and communicative. The course curriculum is solid focusing on preparing students for the job market. The semester exams can be a bit challenging but the high pass rate shows that the programme is well thought out and executed.

Good placements, supportive faculty, vibrant campus life with strong extracurricular activities.
Placements: Around 82 percent of students in my course got placed. The highest package reached 80 LPA, the average is around 12.6 LPA, and the lowest is near 3.6 LPA. Top recruiters include Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Deloitte, NVIDIA, PayPal, Infosys, Accenture, and Adani. About 60-70 percent of students secured internships, mainly in companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and Wells Fargo. The most common roles offered are software development engineer (SDE), analyst, consultant, and core engineering roles, depending on the branch. Overall, placements are strong, with CSE and ECE achieving the best packages, and other branches steadily improving their placement records.
Infrastructure: NIT Durgapur offers modern infrastructure with smart classrooms. Wi-Fi-enabled labs, a central computer center, and a library with print and digital resources. The campus is 187 acres with advanced research facilities like Utkarsh Bhawan. Hostels provide basic furniture, LAN/Wi-Fi, and common areas. Newer hostels are better maintained, while older ones need renovation. Mess food is average, but canteens provide variety. Medical facilities include a 24/7 health unit with doctors, an ambulance, and a pharmacy. Sports facilities are very good. Along with fields for cricket, football, basketball, tennis, gyms, and indoor stadium access. They ensure academic, recreational, and healthcare needs are well supported.
Faculty: Teachers at NIT Durgapur are well-qualified. Many holding PhDs and research experience. They are generally helpful and approachable. Teaching quality is considered good, blending theory with practical exposure, though some students feel pedagogy could be more industry-oriented. The curriculum is regularly updated, aligned with AICTE guidelines, and includes electives, labs, and projects that help build industry-relevant skills. Semester exams are moderately difficult, testing conceptual clarity rather than rote learning. With consistent preparation, most students perform well. The pass percentage remains high, often above 90 percent. It ensures that the majority of students successfully clear their courses and move towards placements.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in technology and its strong career prospects. The best things are the well-structured curriculum, hands-on labs, coding culture, and excellent placement opportunities. However, more industry-like projects, updated lab equipment, and increased research exposure would improve it further. NIT Durgapur has a vibrant campus life with fests like Aarohan Tech, Recstacy, cultural, and sports events. The campus crowd is diverse and energetic, with strong club and extracurricular activity participation. The institute offers good scholarships. It has decent connectivity to major cities, and a green, spacious campus that balances academics with recreation and overall growth.
