NIT Rourkela M.Plan Courses & Fees 2026

National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, Doctoral, Executive PhD and other courses to students. It has 20 departments under which these courses are offered. Moreover, BTech is the flagship course of NIT Rourkela. Some other popular courses offered by the university are MTech, M.A. and others.  Admission to the offered programmes at NIT Rourkela is either through entrance examinations (for example, JEE Mains/ GATE/ IIT JAM) or based on merit. To get admission at NIT Rourkela, General AI category students need to attain a rank of at least 41435 or below to be eligible, according to the round 1 of NIT Rourkela JEE Main cutoff 2026. For this category, the round 1 cutoff ranged from 398 to 41435. Among all the courses, BArch and Integrated BSc + MSc in Life Science were the most and least competitive courses for admission. 

For the students who belong to the General HS category, the required round 1 rank needed for admission should be at least 61256 or below.

For courses like BTech, MTech, or MSc, students will have to apply on the respective accepted exam portal such as NTA, GOAPS, and IIT JAM, respectively. Below-mentioned is the application process for PG and PhD courses:

1. Visit the official website, nitrkl.ac.in/ or on the respective entrance exam portal, such as NTA (nta.ac.in) for JEE.
2. Fill out the application form.
3. Upload the documents.
4. Pay the application fee.
5. Submit and print the application form.

NIT Rourkela has diverse societies catering to performing arts, Literary and Cultural society and the Film and Music society, which functions under the Student Activity Centre. Through these societies, students are able to explore their creative side. The Literary and Cultural Society includes literary, drama and cultural activities.
