Candidates need to complete LLB or Five-year integrated LLB from a recognised university with an aggregate of 55% (50% aggregate for SC/ ST) to apply for Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law LLM course. A one-year LL.M. Post Graduation Course in Business Law, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, and International Law is available from the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL). There will be sixty (60) seats available in total for the LL.M. course.

Students in the home state general category are eligible for a specialised rate at the university. For the home state general category students, nine seats will be allotted individually. Students in the SC/ST category will be given 18 seats. Six places are set aside for students belonging to the OBC category. The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law offers courses at UG, PG and doctoral levels. The university offers five-year integrated BA LLB (Hons), One-year LLM and a PG Diploma course. The university offers admission to the flagship course (BA LLB) based on CLAT score. The selection for PG Diploma is based on merit of the candidates in the last qualifying exam.

Candidates need to pass graduation in the relevant discipline from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD) to apply for RGNUL PG Diploma course.
